Renowned columnist, author, and pundit David Harsanyi has rejoined The Federalist, Editor in Chief Mollie Hemingway announced today. Harsanyi was The Federalist’s Senior Editor from its founding in 2013 until late 2019. He resumes that leadership position, where he will publish his regular commentary and help shape the editorial direction of the publication.

“We are thrilled that David is returning,” The Federalist Editor in Chief Mollie Hemingway said. “David’s journalistic experience and perspective are invaluable to the team as we fight the false narratives of corporate media.”

Since The Federalist was founded in 2013, the publication has earned a reputation for bravely fighting hoaxes peddled by corporate media, including the Russian collusion hoax, the attempted character assassination of Brett Kavanaugh, and Big Tech’s war on freedom of speech.

“David’s wisdom and temperament have been part of The Federalist’s DNA from the very beginning, and I’m beyond thrilled to have him back on the team,” Sean Davis, CEO of The Federalist, said. “In a business that seems to breed cynicism and anger, David has remained optimistic and gracious. He’s a wonderful writer and an even better person.”

Harsanyi returns to The Federalist from time as a senior writer at National Review. He is a nationally syndicated columnist, and author of five books. His most recent book is “Eurotrash: Why America Must Reject the Failed Ideas of a Dying Continent.” He is a contributor to the New York Post, and his work has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Reason, USA Today, and numerous other publications. Harsanyi has appeared on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, ABC World News Tonight, NBC Nightly News, and dozens of radio talk shows across the country.

“I’m thrilled to be back at The Federalist,” Harsanyi said. “Helping launch the site and watching it grow into one of the premier publications in conservative media was the most exhilarating chapter of my career. And the site has only gotten more relevant since I’ve been gone.”
