The real question is if we value Taiwan enough to fight over it, then why do we give communist China freewheeling access to America, to our universities, our military, our entertainment and tech industry, our manufacturing and aviation industry, and most of all access to our politicians?

Yes, there is a benefit to the cabal standing behind the meat puppet Joe - those who want to keep the US engaged in endless and futile wars all over the world. Biden won’t counter China because he won’t cut off Chinese commerce. They own us, we just haven’t surrendered yet.
In China they are saying Biden intends to remove the Trump Sec. 301 duties on Chinese goods coming into the USA.
