Packers Shareholder Wants to Know Why Green Bay Only Drafted Black Players
MSN ^ | May 8, 2022 | Stephen Douglas

Posted on 05/08/2022 9:44:35 PM PDT by Rennes Templar

Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy has a monthly column on the team website where he answers questions from fans and shareholders. It generally appears to be softball questions like any fun events planned for the shareholders meeting and the Paul McCartney concert was awesome, but for some reason this month's edition also featured an absolutely wild letter from a shareholder named Marilyn. She does not waste time getting to her point. Via Packers.com:

A question from Marilyn, a longtime Packer fan and shareholder:

"Out of the 11 players drafted by the Packers in the 2022 NFL Draft none are white. I also looked at the first two rounds of 64 and found that only 11 players drafted by all the teams were white. When I Googled the question of how many white overall were drafted, Google wouldn't answer it. I wonder why. I sure hope we aren't going to have to hear all the whining about equity, justice and all the markings on hats and shoes and all else. I suggest the NFL is actually racist for always choosing and highlighting black players. I am sure that is why you chose Love for a QB when he never should have been chosen. I hope the Packers will play the National Anthem and fly the flag high with the planes going over as they always have. Anyone who doesn't respect and honor our flag and our military heroes does not belong on the Packer roster. So for the 2022-2023 season, let's just play football and leave all the politics and racism out of the stadium."

It only works one way. Anytime whites are over represented it is racism and needs to be corrected. The reverse is not true.

Decisions are now based on three types. Merit—for athletes. Race gender ratios—for college admissions, employment, promotions. Politics-for government appointments.

Harvin punts for the Stillers, I think he's black.

That's why I qualify my original statement "That I have seen". I'm a Rams fan living in the Cardinals market, so I don't often see the Steelers. (We STILL owe them for Super Bowl XIV).

Hockey is the other major sport lacking black players, but Grant Fuhr was a HoF level goalie. I think a lot of what happens is that black men who are athletic pick basketball or football. There used to be more black players in baseball, with HoF level at all positions (Bob Gibson, P, Roy Campanella, C, Ozzie Smith, SS, Willie Mays, CF, etc.). Latin American/Korean players pushed some out of the competition, but growing kids don't have baseball in their mindset like they did a generation ago. I blame baseball's greed by taking short. term money with pay cable/dish over long-term fan access by broadcast TV.

The NFL will be all black in a few years from top to bottom. Just like the NBA.

Their choice, since I don’t own any share in a team not my business.

As a long, long time Packers fan I could care less what color the players are, all I need to know is can the receivers catch the ball, can the defensive players get after opposing QB’s, skin color is irrelevant. What a pant load of crap.

"So basically the NFL Draft is a modern day Slave Auction..."

Not really

Using Spotrac’s projections, here’s the average salary in total value for players drafted in each round:
First round: $18.4 million
Second round: $6.9 million
Third round: $4.4 million
Fourth round: $3.3 million
Fifth round: $2.95 million
Sixth round: $2.8 million
Seventh round: $2.7 million

I don't think slaves got paid that well. No one is forcing these guys to play football, there are lots of other avenues of employment.

I flip past them also. It is what it is. I recognize what
they are doing.

You know, if the White populace reacted like minorities do,
there’d be continual uprisings.

I think it shows a lot of class how little we react to this
nonsense.

It’s beyond childish. It’s harmful.

White kids and adults have a right to be seen in their
proper perspective, not watered down to diminish them.

What is Mitch Trubisky up to these days?

About a 71 quarterback rating. And fighting for a starting job against a white rookie drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He’s not going to be a star QB in the league but he’s probably a mediocre starter or very good backup for most teams. He just will not live up to his high draft pick the Bears used on him

Yep. That’s an idiotic rule. Players are most black, so they don’t complain when they mostly get to play. Why do they mostly play? Because they are mostly the better players.
How about coaches? Why not have the best coaches? Seems like maybe right now the best coaches are mostly white.
No one cares about the skin color. They care about winning. Period. But idiots want to make it about race.

That wasn't a game, that was an old fashioned, Chuck Noll, ass-kicken.

Pay up, if you still owe us, send me $16,498.57 and the debt is paid and I will send you a receipt.

If today's Rams played to old Stillers using the 1979 rules, the score wouldn't count, but the body count would be so high that the Rams wouldn't even be considered as baby goats.

If they used today's pass and tab rules, the game would be called using the mercy rule, 111- 6 Rams over the Stillers {in the first quarter}.

I had season tickets for 40 years, but while I still occasionally watch, I've lost interest {mostly because of the rule changes} and partially because of the woke bullshit.

I was a rabid fan, helped form Franco's Italian Army, {I was the Medic} and was lucky enough to have been born at a time when the Stillers had not won a single thing for 40 years and then won four Super Bowls in five years and I went to a couple of them.

Watching pro football today is like watching kids play flag football...he touched me too hard, too high, too low...

Sadly, you’re correct, at least enough to be pertinent in
this conversation.

He just will not live up to his high draft pick the Bears used on him

They traded up to get him high when he likely would have been available at their original spot. The other teams had him pegged.

When boys can now claim to be girls, when are blacks gonna be able to claim Whiteness without blowback?

It sure WAS a game. The Rams were ahead going into the fourth quarter. Had Nolan Cromwell grabbed a sure interception in the end zone, who knows? Stallworth made a great grab.

If it had been a mere "ass kickin'", Sports Illustrated would not have described the game as "Really Super".

Aaron Donald and Von Miller (using 2021 World Champion Rams team) would have added to the Steeler body count. Stafford had to suffer as a Lion long enough that he would get the ball off quickly to Cooper Kupp, who is physical enough to take a few shoves. Ditto Tyler Higbee. Jalen Ramsey would get an interception or two as Bradshaw threw as many picks as TDs (I know, old rules, but Ramsey is a ball hawk).

Well that's just it - they make so obvious what they're doing. It's also a way to ‘show’ the black population there's another way of life than what they're accustomed to. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to work. There has to be an initiative to improve ones life and have the courage to mount barriers of any type in the way. I don't see that much in their community. I say this because the few I've known 'self inflict' the race barriers even when there aren't any. So they must get past what's been drummed into their heads over the generations.....I've seldom seen or heard blacks encouraging blacks.

These people have had it beaten into their heads that they
can’t succeed without the Democrats leading them by the
hand. Unfortunately, the Democrats have led them off more
cliffs than anyone else.
