Russian leadership threatens nuclear escalation if the West continues to arm Ukraine

During a Tuesday interview with state media, Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov, said that if the U.S. and other Western allies of Ukraine continue to provide the country with weapons, the risk of the war escalating into a nuclear conflict “should not be underestimated.”

CBS News reported that Lavrov said that by providing weapons to Ukraine, NATO countries were “pouring oil on the fire” and risking “World War III.”

Lavrov said that by providing weapons to Ukraine, NATO nations were already “in essence engaged in war with Russia.”

The Russian diplomat’s warning came as U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin met with NATO allies in Germany to urge European nations to increase their military aid to Ukraine. Germany’s defense chief announced on Tuesday that Germany would soon start sending self-propelled armored anti-aircraft guns to Ukraine.

According to CBS News, foreign solidarity with Ukraine has “only grown over the course of Putin’s unprovoked two-month assault” that is now placing its focus largely on the eastern regions of Ukraine.

Last night, the Defense Ministry in Moscow said that it had hit roughly 90 more targets that it designated as “military” institutions. These included rail facilities around the northeastern city of Kharkiv that are crucial for getting supplies — including weaponry — into the city.

Austin told Ukraine’s allies in NATO that despite being significantly outgunned, Ukraine could manage to achieve victory if the country was provided with the “right equipment.”

Ukraine’s foreign minister, Dmytro Kuleba, dismissed the comments made by Lavrov and suggested that the bellicose rhetoric indicated that Russian leadership already “senses defeat in Ukraine.”

Despite this, the fighting in Ukraine’s eastern regions is far from over. Russian forces are reporting that their latest strikes in Kharkiv have killed 500 Ukrainian troops. CBS News says this claim cannot be verified but does substantiate the fact that front-line fighting in the region has only grown more intense.

Residents in Ukraine’s eastern regions are having their lives overturned as Russian forces continue to shell their hometowns. Many people have fled their family homes and taken shelter in shopping centers, where cafes are being converted into first-aid centers and refugee camps are being set up in parking lots.

Reportedly, Russian forces continue to abuse and claim the lives of civilians as they continue to push forward along their 300-mile-long front line in the east.

Fedor Zubkov, a 36-year-old man living near the eastern town of Zaporizhzhia, said that he was held captive for two days, handcuffed, and had a gun pointed at him by Russian forces.

He said, “I need to see the psychiatrist because, after the imprisonment and the loss of my beloved wife, I am slowly losing my mind. You can’t even imagine what it is like to be tortured when 30 fully armored Chechen men stand in front of you, point the gun at you, and threaten to kill you again and again.”

Putin is a gambler. He needs some new cards and using a couple of small battlefield nukes is how he’ll get them. He believes he is facing a doddering old man who can barely walk.

You only end up with a war if you lose deterrence. The entire West being led by a man who can barely remember his own name is not how you get deterrence. A couple of mean Tweets fired off at two AM is how you maintain deterrence.

Call Russia to make good their threat and watch Joe stand down. We understand that Joe’s objective is to sabotage America.

He believes he is facing a doddering old man?

He IS facing....

I bet a lot of us could collapse Putins little sh*t show without firing a shot internally.

It just so happens there is a successor to the tsar who is/has broad support with the Russian Orthodox church.
Get him out there and see how Putin reacts.
As far as removing Putin by force and taking a chance with the next one (politician) who would be in line? Nope..

Typical socialist thinking hipocrits galore! It was okay for them to furnish weapons and pilots and aircraaft to North Vietnam an okay for them to furnish bombs and pilots to North Korea during that war also and lets not forget it was okay for them to furnish bombs, aircraft, and crews to fight in Syria but we are supposed to let Ukraine become part of Russia. Well baby screw you in life what goes around comes around. I personally say they are a third rate power so much has been stolen from there military by there obligards they are a paper tiger. Its time to stop spending money to outdo a paper tiger.....Lets start arming Formosa ...

Russia would be a 3rd rate power if the U.S. and Europe would drill baby drill. Our socialist leaders enrich and empower their mother Russia with “green” policies.

Bluff and bluster are the only reliable weapons left in the Russian arsenal I guess.

Russian Foreign Minister is asking for a pre-emptive attack.

But, we don’t have a real government anymore and we are the communists as much as Russia.

This is a power struggle between our communists who have pulled off their coup and the Russian neo-Soviets and Chinese Communists.

Obama Cartel does not want to play second fiddle to the old failed Revolutionists.

Rainbow-flag Party Cartel are going to implement global revolution the right way.

“You can’t even imagine what it is like to be tortured when 30 fully armored Chechen men stand in front of you, point the gun at you, and threaten to kill you again and again.”

That happened to a good friend of mine in Lebanon in the late 1980’s for two years. He survived by finding peace in God and praying for his captors.

He said the worst was when they would put the pistol to someone’s head and execute them, and then put the same gun to your head and it would click on an empty chamber.

You can't overestimate what America's enemies learned from the imbecilic withdrawal from Afghanistan and the media letting Biden get away with it with a “Come on, that happened days ago!”

Carefully coordinated with Scholz’s pathetic decision to hand over some Gepard air defense vehicles. Ever since Brandt, the SPD has sold itself as preventing WWIII to the Germans, while studiously appeasing the Soviets and then Putin to satisfy their anti-Americanism, benefit German businesses, and for personal profit. This announcement bolsters SPD appeasement, and the SPD is perhaps Putin’s greatest asset in Europe.

During the Cold War the Left (media, academia..) used to accuse Reagan of trying to get us into WW III. They saw the Russians as the party wanting peace (thus Rush's term "Gorbasm") and warmongering Reagan as the threat to world peace. Then Reagan won the Cold War without firing a shot because he kept escalating and wouldn't back down. Today it's the other way around. The Right (or a section of the Right) cries OMG OMG.. we are getting pulled into nuclear war with Russia by our warmongering president, but Russia is only trying to do what is right ("Denazification'). How times change.

Exactly. It's not a credible threat.

Lavrov also said that by providing weapons to Ukraine, NATO was "already at war with Russia." Well, okay, then why hasn't Russia already started bombing NATO countries? Too chicken??

It is a massively transparent bluff.

Who believes Russia said this?

Or there is AT LEAST the possibility that certain election fraudsters are planning a false flag even, to keep power.
