The back up plan from yesterday, wonder why construction was suspended nine months ago:

Construction of Norway-Poland gas pipeline resumes

"Work on a pipeline to deliver natural gas from Norway to Poland has resumed in Denmark after a nine-month suspension.

The Baltic Pipe, which is expected to deliver 10 billion cubic metres of gas annually to Poland — about half of the country's total consumption — should be fully operational from 1 January 2023........"

Good. Nothing less than a total trade embargo on Russia is what’s called for and I appreciate the Russians supporting me on this one!

I assume Russia plans to send more to China, India, Iran, and others in the region?

I was waiting for Russia to turn off the gas, and not just to Poland. Saudis are taking Chinese Yuan for oil now. Qatar said its LNG won’t be going to Europe to make up the difference, ditto the UAE. A year from now Europe will be in a full blown economic depression, let’s see how eager for war they are then.

President Trump saw this coming and warned Europe.

Keeping the Russian gas in the ground can also help prevent accidents at their oil and gas facilities on the surface.

Wonder why Russia waited so long. Oh well, Global Warming should keep the Poles from freezing this winter...

“I assume Russia plans to send more to China, India, Iran, and others in the region?”

It will take some time, but yes, Russia is looking East to continue their gas sales.

In the long term this can help open a market for U.S. LNG exports. There was an LNG terminal under development in Gdansk, not sure if it was back burnered like the pipeline from Norway.

Trump was right, and Comrade Schroder's flunkies in the German delegation were smirking about it during the speech.

As long as it doesn't affect us.

I'm sure Poland is thrilled with the millions of refugees they need to absorb and 50% of their gas cut off.

Free trade kills.

It will take some time, but yes, Russia is looking East to continue their gas sales.

They'll be competing with LNG from the Middle East and Offshore Asutralia in the Asian market, and likely unable to use natural gas as a geopolitical tool there.

Everything is so intertwined that if effects is somewhat, as do the other sanctions and war.
We already have 10% inflation, China is full of it with regards to their economy, and they’re eyeballing Taiwan and providing “security” to the Solomon Islands.

Wonder why Russia waited so long.

Waited exactly until the time for Poland to pay for the next month; they refused to.

Per TASS the gas already stopped.
