That was proposed to the Russians; i.e., give safe passage to the non-combatants to leave. Russia refused, and said the Ukrainians had to lay down their arms and surrender first. Yeah, right. I’m sure the story of Cawnpore, 1857 is known to at least some of the Ukrainians.

BS. There are currently 5 (FIVE!) NATO countries bordering Russia: Poland; Lithuania; Latvia; Estonia; and Norway. How come Russia never invaded any of them?
Ukraine was not going to be admitted into NATO or else it would have been a long time ago. Hell, after only a week of this war Zelenskyy said Ukraine was not going to be joining NATO. Why didn’t Putin stop the invasion at that point, and withdraw? Because this invasion has never been about NATO, or NAZIs, or rescuing anyone.
It has always been about securing the resource-rich Donbas for Russia, and establishing a land bridge from Russia to Crimea (and now, Russia has extended that plan west, to take in ALL of the Ukrainian Black Sea Coast, which would put independent Moldova — which is non-NATO and non-EU — in the Russian cross hairs; this was announced publically by a Kremlin spokesperson just a few days ago).

Cute. I’m in my 70s. And the Russia-Ukraine war is not OUR fight (as I’ve said countless times in the various FR threads on this topic).
My bitch about this war is that a large and powerful country invaded a smaller and weaker neighbor that posed no threat.
But, if someone attacks my home this old hunter is more than capable of throwing some 150-grain rounds their way. And, if they get to my house...well, there would be lots of surprises.

Actually I put the blame on the Western Media, for picking a side and thus covering up and abetting the Ukranian war crimes.
NATO is now 30 nations, having expanded from it’s original 12. That’s called expansion. And if you being in your 70s isn’t too old for you to act like a Neocon cheerleader on this forum, it isn’t too old for you to get your wrinkly old azz to the front lines.
