In a shocking move, mega-ice cream seller Baskin-Robbins has re-branded itself for 2022 — and neglected to include any obnoxious, in-your-face woke themes in its new marketing! No parade of rainbow creatures, no pant-suited feminist mascots, no underdogs bravely standing up to America’s racist, sexist, homophobic, bigoted, xenophobic system. There’s nary a victim nor a woke hero to be seen. It’s almost eerie.
Almost as inexcusably, the re-launched branding is relentlessly positive. The new campaign — the first in 20 years for the 77-year-old company — is called “Seize the Yay.” It focuses on celebrating the myriad joys of ordinary life. In a press release, Baskin-Robbins explains:
Made your bed? That’s a reason to celebrate. Put on pants with actual buttons? There’s another! Legendary ice cream brand, Baskin-Robbins is celebrating the happiness ice cream brings to every moment with a refresh of the iconic brand’s logo, packaging, employee uniforms and tagline encouraging customers to “Seize the Yay” – appreciating every moment, no matter how big or small.

That’s nice. When I first saw the article I thought they were going to advertise “A flavor for every gender” or something.
That’s an ad campaign and not a rebrand. And probably a really overdue ad campaign. B&R is fading away.

Agree. They exposed their political agendaa which is not mine. I never had Ben & Jerry... but I LOVE Haagen Dazs ice cream!
If they want to prove their bona fides they have to be banned on Twitter and Facebook.
Otherwise they are suspect.

Other than tossing newspaper as a 12/13 year B&R 31 Flavors was my first job for 2 1/2 years, Fullerton California, Brea Blvd. Long gone now. Some good memories and meet a couple lasting friends.
They have very good ice cream. 60 years ago it was the best, but then they lowered the quality a bit.
I stopped going there when they started including frozen yogurt among their 31 flavors. I also noticed a change in the clientele, which went from balanced family to short haired mothers with very small children — no more dads or teenagers.
Selling ice cream to dieting sado-masochistic hyper-moms. Dumb move that was.
Don’t spoil it by ordering colored ice cream....

They don’t need to be woke...their most famous employee was the teenage Barack Hussein.
Of course Hussein’s only contribution to B&R was to steal ice cream and give it to his friends. A anct about which he has openly bragged.

It’s time for the marketing industry to recognize that people don’t identify with (and don’t buy) product commercials depicting people who don’t look like themselves.
