Hope Solo, a former goalkeeper for the US women's national soccer team, was arrested after she was found passed out behind the wheel of her car with her 2-year-old twins in a Walmart parking lot in North Carolina.
Police in Winston-Salem arrested the 40-year-old on Thursday on charges of driving while impaired, resisting a public officer, and misdemeanor child abuse, the Associated Press reported.
Solo had allegedly been passed out for more than an hour with the engine of the vehicle running while her two young children were in the backseat when she was noticed by a passerby.
AP reported that a responding officer with the Winston-Salem police department arrived at the scene and could smell alcohol on her breath. When he attempted to administer a field sobriety test, Solo refused, and a blood sample was taken instead.

Hope Solo was pretty, talented, and a bit of a mess...who sadly ended up exactly where she would have been whether she played professional soccer or not - passed out drunk in a car with her two small children.
This is a different player. Hope Solo, 40 years old, played from 2000-2016 on the National team then bounced around a couple of women’s leagues here and in Europe. Sadly for her the leagues kept going out of business.
It’s not about her dipshit, it’s about her kids.
If she HAD been Purple Hair she would’ve been given an award.
She may be a sinner, unredeemable in some eyes, but I’m going to say a prayer for her to get help.

Of course, as would any responsible person. The current world problem is that there are fewer and fewer of us.
I am a long time soccer player and enjoyed many years of watching the US Women;s Team. Hope predates the angry lesbian years. She was a great goalkeeper.
Interestingly, she did not start a crucial final match in the 2007 World Cup (If I remember right). She was better than Briana Scurry who started, in no small part because she was black. We lost. Hope had started all the games before that and we were undefeated. Hope spoke out, and was punished by the USWNT by being banished. (Had she been gay and been anti-USA all would have been fine.)
God only knows who has so hardened their hearts that they will never be saved- our part in life is to pray for everyone as though they are redeemable because we don’t know who is beyond hope

I used to enjoy women’s basketball because they usually played just for the love of it. No professional league, no multi-million dollar sponsors, nothing. They just played good basic ball.
Then it became Thugball Lite.
I lost interest.
Now all women’s sports are ruled by angry lesbians and I couldn’t care less.
