Putin's war in Ukraine puts Germany's Greens in a tight spot
Deutsche Well ^ | April 3, 2022 | By William Noah Glucroft, Jens Thurau

Anti-nuke, anti-war, pro-planet: These are tough days for Germany's Greens, who have long stood for disarmament and renewable energy. Now governing in a crisis, they find themselves needing to go the opposite way.

It's not easy being Green. No one feels that these days quite like Robert Habeck, the environmentalist party's former co-chief. Now, as Germany's economic affairs and climate action minister, he oversees weapons exports and works to secure energy supply for the country.

That was before inflation and energy prices, both already reaching all-time highs, bounced even higher as a result of the war and the West's dramatic sanctions in response. It was before Germany had to seriously worry about Russia cutting off the gas it is so dependent on.

As a result, the long-term global climate crisis has taken a back seat to the immediate European security crisis, at least for now. Habeck has struck gas and oil agreements with counterparts in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates; his party has gone along with government plans for a temporary reduction in gas taxes; and negotiations are ongoing with allies, as well as German and international energy companies on how to boost supply of fossil fuels to keep the economy's lights on and residents' homes warm through next winter.

None of this, Habeck and other officials say, comes at the expense of the government's ambitions for fighting the climate crisis.

The Greens are naive children.

They believe everything the left tells them about the planet and refuse to believe reality until it’s too late.

In many ways, I would love to see Russia destroy those snobbish Europeans (looking at you Klaus Schwab). /spit

This isn't the Red Army commanded by Zhukov back in the Soviet Union. Now? The Russian Conscripts are using a bunch of antiquidated weapons from the '80s. Right now in a conventional war, the Germans will crush them.

Not because the Germans are all that militarily but because of how much the Russians suck. We thought that they've modernized their military, while that may be true to an extent, their bite is limited to a bunch of planes, missiles and Special Forces (Spetsnaz, Airborne Troops) that they've deployed in places like Crimea and Syria.

Germany's Greens in a tight spot

Oh my god. I am in tears. It is just so sad watching tragedy unfold. It's like watching a ship run up on a charted reef knowing they are heading towards a charted reef, but there is no consensus to turn the ship and not crack up on the reef.

The ideologies of the Western world are running smack against the hard rock of geopolitical reality. What they though were universal truths are just self-deceptive lies. Now what are we going to believe.

Greenies are feminists and lesbos. With their gay male adjacents. Think about it. Every US and European man with a mind knows we need more use of fossil fuels. That we need to drill and extract more at home. Importing life’s essentials is for losers, and D Trump will agree w me.

Greta is probably missing her retainer from Russia.

As are half the Euro “green” leaders, probably.

Year after year this information comes out -
https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/03/09/russias-propaganda-war-on-fossil-fuels-n2604243

And nobody ever did anything about it.

“Just a few years ago, though, a congressional investigation into Russian interference in U.S. politics revealed evidence that Russia has had a role going back more than a decade now in the radical campaign to get the United States and other western countries to shift away from fossil fuels — a goal much like the one Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm stated last week.”

“According to the former Secretary General of NATO (Anders Fogh Rasmussen, in 2014), “Russia, as part of their sophisticated information and disinformation operations, engaged actively with so-called nongovernmental organizations – environmental organizations working against shale gas – to maintain dependence on imported Russian gas.”

Etc and etc and etc.

All of these environmental organizations that both the US Democrats depend on as well as all the left of center Euro and green parties, are supported by Russia (and other players too). Russia has been backing all of these left-wing groups for decades.

Leave it to the Germans to make a strategic catastrophically bad decision at least once every generation. This time they have put green lunatics in power. They have declared war on fossil fuels and nuclear energy. The problem is that Germany needs fossil fuels and energy. Since there is no fracking, coal mining or clean coal technology in Germany, the Germans are forced to import gas and oil mostly from Russia. The Germans soothe themselves thinking that they are virtuous and green. The Russians must be delighted to know that there are multiple other markets for their oil, gas and fertilizer. Given the historic crimes the Germans have committed against the Russian people, sure that most Russians are not too discomfited watching Germany twist a bit.

The Greens thought they could live on vacation from history - that life would be this nice utopia. But history caught up with them.

None of their current actions changes the fact that Germany chose to partner (collude) with Putin.

Trump warned them at the UN, but they scoffed at him.

Today Germany still buys Russian oil and gas. They are providing material support to the enemy. Why?

I’m a first-generation American, my father came here from Germany. I lived there for two years myself with the Army and love it there so much have been back to visit and drive their racetracks. It’s truly one of the most amazing countries on earth.

Here’s hoping Russia makes Germans forage for beetles bark for a few years. As with any country that goes woke or neo-communist, They richly deserve whatever hardship and destruction comes their way.

Hopefully they’ll learn - the hard way - or else.

As an aside relating to the green insanity of Germany. I worked in a brand new office building in Berlin. All the bells and whistles of modern greenery. LED lights, green roofs, low flow toilets (which were always clogged) etc. It turns out it wasn’t green enough for that psychopath Merkel. A crew was sent to replace every single light fixture and light switch with an upgraded motion sensor. All thermostats were removed and replaced with a “smart” thermostat centrally controlled from...somewhere. The lights would automatically shut off within a minute or two so if the office was still the lights shut off. If you were on the toilet the bathroom lights would shut off and it would be pitch black. The sunny side of the building would be scorching because the walls were all glass while the other side was freezing but the thermostats were not adjustable. The greens are already crazy. After two years my residency was revoked to make room for Merkel’s pet rapefugees. Couldn’t have white engineers in Germany. Germany needed millions of violent muslims and Africans to put on the welfare rolls. The rapefugees absolutely destroyed where I lived.
