Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) announced on Thursday that he will endorse state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) in his primary challenge against Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.), as the freshman congressman faces blowback from within his own party over recent comments he made.

Tillis in a statement criticized Cawthorn, a 26-year-old freshman lawmaker, and said that Edwards is “the best choice” to lead the Tar Heel State’s 11th Congressional District.

I don't know what he recently said that is being referred to but he said Joe Biden was elected without fraud, called Biden "my president" and said how he is looking forward to working with Biden.

"Yes, I think I would say that the election was not fraudulent. You know, the Constitution allowed for us to be able to push back as much as we could and I did that to the amount of the constitutional limits that I had at my disposal. So now I would say that Joseph R. Biden is our president."

"So when I contested to the election, that was within the constitutional guidelines that the framers had set up. But after I've done that and the electors and the delegates from each state elected Joe Biden as our president, I respect the office. He is my president, and I want to work with him to make sure that we can bring some meaningful change to the American people."

Since Biden's inauguration, Cawthorn has signed onto a letter along with 16 other GOP House freshmen, saying they look forward to working with Biden. Notably, Cawthorn is the youngest member of Congress in modern history, according to US House records, at just 25 years old.

Above quotes and excerpt are from a Jan. 24, 2021 news report in an interview he gave with CNN

He endorsed Biden as president, called Biden his president, stated the election was not fraudulent and stated he wanted to work with Biden.

A Free Republic post on Cawfield kowtowing on CNN was made at the time, which can be seen here: Madison Cawthorn Once Opposed Electoral College Certification…Now He Says Biden’s Victory was Legitimate

Why did he acquiesce in this way? Note that about a week before this complete kowtow to Biden on CNN, the Democrats and Pelosi were threatening to kick him out on congress. Posted here at FR:

Democrats pressure Pelosi to expel Madison Cawthorn [North Carolina]

So we can see that at the first sign of trouble he rolled over and showed his belly to the democrats.

He is saying the right things today, but he has already shown to Pelosi and the Dems that when push comes to shove he will back down and toe the line.

Tillis is trash.

Yes he is, but cawthorn is no better. Neither should be in government.

The radical left, the establishment, and the media want to take me down.

Their attacks have been relentless.

I won't stop fighting.

I won't bow to the mob.

They want to silence the America First movement.

I'm not going anywhere. pic.twitter.com/8yMmf6OizB— Madison Cawthorn (@CawthornforNC) March 31, 2022

He didn't do anything other than say aloud what everyone else has known for a very long time.

What Did Cawthorn Say? FreeRepublic News.

He got invited to drug-fueled orgies and he was aghast that Washington is a corrupt cesspool.

“Despite the headline, this internal poll by Rep. Madison Cawthorn’s (R) top primary rival finds Cawthorn in pretty safe shape for reelection, leading state Sen. Chuck Edwards (R) 52%-20%. Cawthorn only needs to clear 30% to avoid a runoff.”

He does make some real faux pas I have to admit, but if Cawthorn is all in on America first I basically don’t care what else he says.

He didn't do anything other than say aloud what everyone else has known for a very long time.

"Everyone knows" yet the reelection rate is approximately 90%. Voters somehow keep getting duped into believing it's not their congressman, or alternative candidates never show up in a primary and mention these things in their attack ads.

Milch-toast Tillis is endorsing Edwards instead of Cawthorn?

That does it. I'm voting for Cawthorn.

Here’s my answer. I don’t give a damn what Trump says on the matter. I can read and observe enough to make up my own mind. Are you so weak minded that you have to look to Trump whenever you have to make decision on something? I thought only Democrats were that stupid.
