Washington Post columnist Megan McArdle blasted the legacy media for its collective dismissal of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2020 presidential election.
In a piece published on Saturday, McArdle began by noting what a friend coined was a "growing 'epistemic closure' on the right" that filters out what is reported in the distrusted liberal media.
"This frets the mainstream media. It is our job to provide information, so naturally we worry when so many customers aren’t buying… In fact, we in the mainstream have been so busy denouncing ‘fake news’ that we failed to notice we’re developing a wee disinformation problem of our own — much of which has stemmed, ironically, from our efforts to fight disinformation on the right," McArdle told readers.
She then turned to the New York Post's bombshell reporting about Hunter Biden's laptop, which included emails that implicated his father, then-Democratic nominee Joe Biden, and how the "information gatekeepers scrambled to keep this story from polluting the mainstream’s pristine infoscape" using various tactics like calling the story "Russian disinformation" or a "distraction" to Big Tech's suppression of the report.

It not whether you are trustworthy, its that you lack the self awareness that your biased or worse you know you are liars and don’t care.
We all are in fact biased, we have world views that can keep us from seeing the truth, but for some reason liberals/progressives cannot fathom that. They lack self awareness or worse they are deceitful liars controlled by Satan.
Not much of a news worthy article, it’s been obvious for years. Frankly it’s more about bias & denial.

Just replace the word “entirely” with “at all” and you’ll be spot on.
Examples include, but are woefully incomplete, the virus and the needless fear you generated, calling the theft of an election the big lie, when the opposite is true, and now claiming Ukraine is a growing democracy that deserves are undivided attention and help. Come clean on all or STFU.
When the legacy media hasn’t mentioned “Hunter Biden” now for almost 300 days with all this news, it’s deliberate bias by omission.

You are not trusted at all because of your out and out lies, half truths, and innuendo when it comes to reporting a narrative other than that which you espouse on your editorial pages.
It is going to be particularly interesting to watch how they get out of the ‘big lie’ debunked, Trump can’t let go of the past election theft reporting. Blame exhaustive fact checking ? Court non decisions ? The AP ? Pathological liars do tell falsehoods out of habit and for no apparent reason, but still am a bit surprised at the lack of even a fig leaf of evidence when this can be so easily uncovered with hard facts.
They aren’t the “mainstream” media, they are the gaslight media. Part of the gaslighting - a very small part - is the propagand term “mainstream” itself. What they publish isn’t aligned with mainstream America, but rather the progressive/communist/extremist left, which isn’t at all the mainstream attitude of average Americans. As much as they would like you to think otherwise.
