"Meanwhile, some say the health risks associated with DST are well-documented and less arguable. These include significant increases of heart attacks and stroke, fatigue, and decreased productivity, increases in headache occurrences, and a rise in depression. Even traffic accidents increase as a result of time shifts, according to research from AAA Colorado."

This is something we've known for years. Now change it! Keep either standard time or savings time, one of the other.

I saw how it affected school children, especially the spring transmutation.

I vote to keep Standard time year round or moving the clock one half hour ahead permanently.

I prefer standard time. I don’t need it to be daylight at night time and I don’t like driving to work in utter darkness. But most of all, I don’t like the changing back and forth. It takes too long for my circadian rhythm to adjust to the changes.

I think we should all adopt the Arizona model and not have DST at all. The same people who are complaining that it gets dark too early in the winter will be complaining about getting up and driving to work an hour before dawn.

From my observation point, the human brain has already eroded way past the point of no return. Western civilization is committing suicide.

How did we ever survive before they started changing the clocks

A half hour move would be difficult to reconcile with navigation.

I agree with you. I was dismayed that the Senate apparently voted to keep DST permanent. I’d much rather make Standard Time permanent

A half hour move would be difficult to reconcile with navigation.

There are other time zones around the world that are at 1/2 hour increments off from GMT.

If we go to "permanent DST" for the United States, then the definition of EST, CST, MST, PST would have to be changed in relation to GMT.

For some reason it especially annoyed me to change the clocks again Sunday. I wondered if this would ever stop. Why does it take so many years to change nonsense?

And then I read yesterday that stopping this ridiculous time change was being voted on...and passed the Senate.

YAY! They did something constructive.

to move “measured time” in other than ‘1 hour’, would be a complete TRUCKUP!!fishing, hunting, astronomical-to include sunrise, moonrise, equinox and ecliptic, and many other ‘measured events’ would become FUBAR!!

There are time zones, particularly in India, that are offset by 1/2 hour.

It makes so much more sense to just park the clocks where the belong and then leave them alone. The business hours of workplaces can be shifted instead.

If this study was remotely true, then explain

A) Since wide spread adaption of DST in the 70's people are living longer than ever

B) people who travel on jets aren't dropping dead on a regular basis

I will take me kids to the playground tonight after work thanks to this wonderful Constitutional gift of DST and let you and others....
