Western planes worth $13bn stranded in Russia, analysts say

Analysts at data and analytics company Russell Group have reported that 589 Western-built aircraft with a market value of approximately $13 billion are currently on the ground in Russian airports.
Flights to and from Russia have been banned by nearly all Western nations in response to the country’s widely-condemned invasion of Ukraine.
The result is that hundreds of leased planes in Russia that are owned by European companies stuck on the ground in the country.
And Russell Group warns that the aviation war market now faces its biggest potential loss since 9/11.
Western sanctions have effectively “crippled” Russia’s aviation sector, analysts say, with the country’s largest flight operator, Aeroflot blocked from European and North American airspace.
And in addition to the airspace restrictions, Russian companies in the aviation or space industry have been blocked from accessing British-based insurance or reinsurance services directly or indirectly.

The US has seized Russia’s assets. Why would anyone doubt that they will in return seize the assets of American and other western countries?
I can see Russia winding up as a oil/gas/mineral subsidiary of China.

Use the seized assets to reimburse the western assets.

The sanctions seem to be hitting the Russian middle class and the poor in Russia, not the ruling elite, or the oligarchs.
Her mom could not now get the meds she needs to keep her sight.

If anything, the sanctions are lifting the oligarchs into more powerful and secure positions and turning the Russian populace against the west. Detaining a super yacht is a minor frustration when you are in the financial realms of owning super yachts. Two phone calls and you're on a different super yacht borrowed from some Emirati friend and your brand of bespoke Armagnac is being choppered in along with caviar and fresh escorts within the hour. Blocking exports for a month for a middle class business could easily mean that business is ruined.

Those planes will be seized by the Russian government. Russia is contemplating seizing the assets of corporations that have pulled out of Russia.
everything including patents.
