They've been predicting "the big one" since the early 1970's

No. The next *big earthquake* will most likely be offshore of the Oregon-Washington coast, under the Cascadia Fault line.

This fault trips off regularly every 280-360 years with a Mag 8 - Mag 9 earthquake and tsnamis that clobber villages in Japan.

The last one was January 1703. 320 years ago.
