If you have exaggerated ideas about what politicians can achieve you are always going to be disappointed. Jordan realizes that McCarthy is about as good as he is going to get as Speaker. Maybe he will concentrate on getting substantive things done, rather than focus on the vain task of overturning the leadership. “The swamp” is just another phrase for what Washington DC is, always was, and always will be, but that doesn’t mean that things can’t be done to make things better in the country.

I find that sad. Every day when I get on FRee Republic, I find out about more and more republicans WHO JUST DON’T MAKE THE CUT.
It seems they are ALL traitors, backstabbers, RINOs, weak, not-perfect people who we are to believe are LOSERS.
WELL, I think we have established that THERE IS NO ONE ON GOD’S GREEN EARTH WHO IS PURE ENOUGH TO GET YOUR SUPPORT.
I find that depressing and when, in the past I relied on the opinions of FReepers, I have come to realize that some want to DROP SUPPORT for anyone who does not support the WHOLE DEAL.
I know I will please many when I say that I will spend less and less time on Free Republic (which I happen to love). I am sorry, but I like Jim Jordan, Kevn McCarthy and many others who seem to have sparked your dislike.
I like Jordan but McCarthy backed Boehner and Ryan and their spineless policies. We can’t afford another group of weakness leading the GOP.

I defended Jim Jordan several years ago and I trust him today.
