TULSA, Okla. — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-OK) is expected to announce his resignation on Monday, according to a New York Times report Thursday.
The report says Inhofe would remain in his seat through the end of the congressional session.
Inhofe, 87, already announced after his reelection in 2020 that this would be his last term.
He's been in office since 1994.
If Inhofe resigns on or before March 1, a special election for the vacancy would be a part of the November ballot.

Good for him. Inhofe did a great job fighting against the AGW hoax for years. His ex-staffer Marc Morano ran the Climate Depot web site.
My fave is Nathan Dahm. He’s out there but we need some guys like that to match the likes of the Squad.
Is it? If his resignation is effective at the end of the term I’d expect the governor would appoint with a special election in 23 or regular election in 24 to fill the last two years of the term
Strange deal with the news going out today of all days and he’s the senior guy on the Armed Services Committee. Maybe he stroked out today.
