Here is a segment from the interview:

“Under the plans, Russia would be allowed to station up to 30,000 troops in Ukraine, in order to convince the Russians that Ukraine would never be used as a vehicle of war against them. Ukraine would also pass a constitutional amendment forcing it to be a permanently neutral country and to cut all links with NATO.”

Many of the Ukrainian people have Russian relatives in both Ukraine and Russia. Any war could almost be called a civil war.

Ukraine is not Poland.

The languages are virtually the same, and even most who do identify as Ukrainian speak Russian as their first language. I believe a neutral Ukraine should be acceptable to all parties.

Sounds like Russia is TIRED of being treated like 3 year-old by a paper tiger (i.e., the US).

I have an acquaintance that was born in the Ukraine but lived most of his life in Russia. The back and forth is quite common according to him.

This is what Russian Collusion looks like.

In fairness, the result would have been the same under Trump. Russia would not have permitted Ukraine in NATO, no matter who was president. And Trump would not have been dumb enough to challenge Russia.

The only difference between Trump and Biden on this, is that under Trump, the crisis would never have arisen in the first place. Whereas under Biden, the Neocons likely made moves on Ukraine, which necessitated a loud objection from Russia.

An amendment to the Ukrainian constitution declaring that Ukraine will maintain neutrality and never join *any* military or economic alliance with foreign nations would actually be prudent. The only hope Ukraine had for remaining whole and peaceful was to maintain neutrality and accept its position as a buffer state between the EU/NATO and Russia/CIS.

Had they enshrined this in their constitution to start with, there *may* not have been the US-backed armed putsch ousting their democratically-elected president, sparking off a civil war and loss of Crimea. All that loose talk from Vickie Nuland and her pet Ukrainians about joining the EU and NATO and turning Sebastopol into a NATO port was reckless. On the other hand, perhaps *nothing* would have deterred Miss Vickie the Cookie Lady.

When there is no war, the press will spin it as Biden brought peace.

I suspect he’ll get a Nobel Peace Prize out of it.
