Landlords and residents in California’s Bay Area are being asked to take in vagrants as homelessness continues to spiral out of control.
Several nonprofits and a mayor in the area are prodding residents and landlords to take in one of the nearly 30,000 homeless individuals in the five-county area, the Mercury News reports. Existing affordable housing developments do not have adequate room to accommodate the homeless population.

Sure I’ll be delighted to take a smelly deranged drug addict, after I pay the county an obscene amount of property tax for the privilege of being able to keep the house I sacrificed all to “own”.
It’s the least I can do to help ease a problem caused by the same bureaucratic slugs to whom I’m pay half of my income to.
After dodging drug addicts, needles, and human waste for years, and after tolerating brazen and unchecked theft in broad daylight, I think the people of San Fransisco will welcome the homeless with open arms.

A lot of the homeless have severe mental issues. We are simply not equipped to deal with such people.
Several years ago, when I was managing a thrift store for a homeless shelter, I encountered a woman who drove up in a very confused state. She was convinced that she needed to drive north to Flagstaff and she did not appear to have sufficient funds for gas. I got the appropriate social services representative on the phone and it took three of us to convince her that the trip was not a good idea.
Right up front, a major issue was one of trust. It was a very hard conversation.
There are an estimated 46,000 vacant homes in the Bay Area!

Just move the so called homeless into those vacant homes and provide them with basic food and the drugs of their choice.
