I sensed throughout Sunday no let up in either enthusiasm or the decibel level from truck and car horns, and fireworks. All weekend, the atmosphere was festive, with an obvious sense of catharsis after two years of heavy restrictions and repeated lockdowns....
One myth that was busted right away was the striking diversity of the protestors starting with the two main organizers, Benjamin Dichter, who is Jewish and Tamara Lich, who is Metis. Far from being a uniformly disgruntled group of white Canadians, not that there is anything wrong with being that, one saw Indo-Canadians, Arab Canadians, Chinese Canadians, Black Canadians and just about every other ethnic Canadian under the sun ....
People had different reasons for joining. One couple from Cambridge, Ontario, whose nephew died by suicide due to depression during the lockdown, said that they were here to make their voice heard for kids, including for their daughter, who was with them, locked out of schools, physical activity and social life....
One Indo-Canadian trucker, Kamal Pannu from Montreal, I spoke to, was bemused that the protestors were being bracketed as white supremacists when so many of them including he himself are ethnic minorities and people of colour. Some Sikh Canadians who represent a large percentage of truckers in Canada appeared to be out at various transit points on the trucker’s routes to Ottawa to share food and blankets with the truckers ...
I spoke to Orlando, Barry, and Ayesha, Black Canadians who drove from Toronto, protesting on behalf of those who lost jobs — including Orlando, 43, who now works as an independent contractor ....
How did elite Canadian opinion go from compassion for marginalized groups fearful to be vaccinated, toward hate and vitriol, that such people should be ostracized, imprisoned or fined, in just a few months?

It’s a sure thing they’ll find that one Confederate flag and smear everyone.
I guarantee you the copy is already being written, edited, and run past focus groups. If (when) a US freedom convoy gets started it'll be demonized before it crosses the first state line.
Probably already interviewing potential LGBQT "victims" to be bullied by them. Maybe even a couple of car loads of "undocumented" people to have "accidents" with the convoy. The convoy will be made out to look like the Wehrmacht rolling through France.
You will see a more diverse bunch of people than at most colleges or universities.
And not a one asking their fellow taxpayers to "forgive" their loans for their trucks.
The rumors of similar protests in the US, Australia, and Germany where the narrative big media regard it as anti-vax instead of anti-mandates, is expected but many involved are vaxed but done with the government over-reach and mandates.

Metis is a mix of Native and French Canadian
Their history goes back to old fur trade in the late 1700s, when the French traders would go inland and marry Native wives (very useful in the fur trade - they spoke the local languages, could live off the land, etc.) ... the English preferred to stay near the shores of Hudson’s Bay, and didn’t mingle as much
They have a distinctive attire - the red sash - and their flag uses our math symbol for “infinity”

That's only part of the message. Not every trucker in Canada is unvaccinated. Some are vaccinated.
This is about more than vaccines, it's about Government mandates that take away our FREEDOM.
I'm vaccinated, and I've always been against mandates. Even moreso now that we know just how ineffective these so-called "vaccines" are.
Simply stated, Government cannot and should not ever be allowed to mandate what we put in our bodies, ESPECIALLY when the very thing they're mandating not only doesn't work, there are hundreds of thousands of cases where it actually caused harm.
Mandates must end, period. In Canada, the United States and globally.
When an American convoy forms, I'll join it. I live just north of Interstate 80 by about 3 miles here in Hellinois. When it comes my way, you bet your ass I'm going to join in.
