President Biden, it’s you – not Republicans – who’s bereft of ideas
NY Post ^ | 1/26/22 | Newt Gingrich

Posted on 01/30/2022 7:01:32 AM PST by livius

Mr. President, you asked in your press conference last week, “What are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they’re for.”

Republicans realize freedom is in jeopardy, for the self-anointed ruling class that bankrolls the Democratic Party to cloak their own greed does not understand liberty. These usurpers pocket the hard-earned money of citizens or print it, causing inflation, the most regressive of taxes. The cost of basic goods ─ food, gas and shelter ─ constitute the greatest proportion of wages for working Americans who do not have letters after their names.

Republicans hold these truths: Liberty, as promised in our Declaration of Independence, is our birthright, but it is only possible under limited government; expansive government, acting recklessly, subverts individual agency and choice.

Republicans believe that the free expression of faith and the sanctity of the American family are prerequisites to happiness and its pursuit and to our nation’s enrichment. Any governmental program that circumscribes faith or hurts families is unacceptable, yet Democratic politicians inflict a cascade of actions against these central institutions, intent on substituting the veneration of an all-powerful state for our love of God and the blessings of those we hold dear.…

OK, I know this is probably too idealistic, but Newt Gingrich sums up the ideals and principles the GOP should have and not be afraid to talk about and defend. He was actually good at sticking to his guns when he was in the House, although sadly, he was actually dumped by the GOP itself when they didn’t defend him from an insane, off-the-wall Dem attack. Typical, I’m afraid.

But maybe recent experiences will have given some in the GOP a backbone, and Newt’s words will remind them of what it’s all about.

Biden will soon be discarded like the dried up empty husk he is today and the legion of money grubbing authoritarian politicians, bureaucrats and corporatists behind him will find a new vessel to pursue their fascist agenda.

No, these are the ideals and principles of constitution defending patriots. The GOP is after power to ensure that nothing gets done that is not to the benefit of their cronies and the guys behind them. The left is despicable, but the unprincipled GOPeeers are far worse. These traitors are the enemy in our own camp.

Wish they’d quit calling him “President”. He isn’t.

Those on the left believe the only way to be “for” something is to fund a government program in its name.

So when Biden said “What are Republicans for?” what he meant was “In what ways do Republicans want government to grow?”

A response of shrinking government won’t be satisfactory to the left, because they simply won’t think it answers the question.

"Name me one thing they’re for.”

Leaving people alone.

Which to a progressive is the most horrific betrayal imaginable...

The trouble with this story is the polite assumption that Biden is anything other than a figurehead and professional speech giver at this point.

The Democrats have plenty of ideas, but they cannot discuss them openly.

Those that do, want to be considered “President” when the media toadies declare them as such, too.

America cannot survive this “Press” in political chains.

Biden: "Name me one thing they’re for..."

The plate is already full, simply working to stem the flood of things Dems have foisted upon us:

<><>Zero's ANTIFA & BLM
<><>Racism riots
<><>Defund the Police
<><>Runaway Inflation
<><>Supply chain Mismanagement
<><>Military Mismanagement (e.g, Afghanistan)
<><>Covid mask and vax mandates and lockdowns
<><>Weaponization of the FBI
<><>policies to help destroy middle class and small businesses
<><>Encouraging Cancel Culture
<><>Fascism (working with large corporations against citizenry)
<><>Supplanting "health care" thru doctor-patient relationships onto corporate medical center administrations as a direct extension of government policies
<><>Labeling Parents as Terrorists
<><>Allying with CCP and global elites to relinquish US sovereignty
<><>Weaponizing Prosecutors against fighting crime
<><>Encouraging, Rewarding & Weaponizing Illegal Immigration
<><>Turning blind eye to child trafficking
<><>Full embrace of identity politics
<><>Encouraging/fostering Trans culture

Conservatives are all about individual freedoms and responsibility, which are antithetical to everything the Biden Administration promotes.

It’s one thing to have principles. It’s one thing to have ideas. It’s quite another to do more than pay lip-service to those principles and ideas. That’s where the current party is falling down on the job.

True that Livius. Unfortunately, once a person gets inside the beltway, their connection to reality and critical thinking evaporates. It is a very nasty, networked town. The less they “achieve”, the better off we all are.

“What are Republicans for? What are they for? Name me one thing they’re for.”

A real journalist’s would have responded immediately - “Mr Xiden, you’ve been in DC for 50+ years, and you mean to say you don’t have any idea for what the Republicans stand?”

No, but I think they’re meant for the Republicans anyway. The GOP is the one that needs reminding of the principles of American conservatism and how they can be put into practice.

That would be by getting the government off our backs and out of our lives, and the restoration of individual moral responsibility and autonomy.

Nothing will ever satisfy the left. They want total control over every aspect of human life and the human individual. For their own good, of course.

You're absolutely right.

The following may make me sound like a warmonger. Hopefully not. But I sincerely do believe that even a hot war would be better than this state of perpetually living on tenterhooks. Lancing a boil, although briefly painful, is better by far than the boil being allowed to grow and grow and grow, potentially killing the body with sepsis.
