ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Former U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake formally stepped into his new position as U.S. ambassador to Turkey on Wednesday, after presenting his credentials to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Flake is a former Republican lawmaker who endorsed U.S. President Joe Biden’s 2020 run for the White House. He served in the U.S. Senate from Arizona from 2013 to 2019 and in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2001 to 2013.
Flake retired from the Senate at the end of his term in 2019, saying he was out of step with the Republican Party in the era of former President Donald Trump. He later wrote a book, “Conscience of a Conservative,” that was a critique of Trump.

the problem is that the whole Republican Party is out of step with the Republican Party in the era of Trump. None of these RINOs are facing up to reality or what they need to be doing about.

You have to laugh at the use of the diplomatic corps as a form of patronage for otherwise unemployed politicians. The former Mayor of Milwaukee is now the US Ambassador to the very important nation of Luxembourg. That was Joe Biden’s way of moving out the last White Mayor of Milwaukee and making way for the first in an endless string of black Mayors, and all that will bring to Brew City.
