After Afghanistan, any American who is still in an overseas post even remotely close to a conflict (measured by either time or distance) should have put together a pretty solid Plan B by now, even if that means having purchased a plane ticket with nationals from another NATO country.

The Biden Administration might leave Americans behind, but the British, the French, and the Germans will move mountains to get their people out.

(After we pulled out the rug from them in Afghanistan, it's a safe bet that these countries no longer rely on the Americans to conduct something as simple as a non-combat evacuation.)

It’s not Afghanistan and not a difficult drive to Chișinău or Minsk or somewhere closer within Moldova or Belarus. Or just head west toward Slovakia. The Russians are not going to be on a civilian killing spree. People just need to get away from whatever fighting might happen.
