Those maps are intentionally deceptive. While the cities in the east are majorly Russian speaking the countryside is ethic Ukrainian and Ukrainian speaking. Don’t be duped by Putinist propaganda.

Given the threat of an insurgency as well as of NATO arming whatever is left of Ukraine, he might decide that it makes more sense to take the entire country.

The Biden administration once again screws up. The situation in Ukraine has been unstable for months giving ample opportunity to plan an evacuation of US citizens, but again Brandon pisses it down both legs. Ukraine will be a debacle as bad as Afghanistan. Worse still Biden’s impotent saber rattling may get US troops involved. God help this country which in one year under Old Joe is in the economic dumpster, has become a COVID fascist state and now may be in a needless war with Russia. I hope all the Trump haters are happy with the mess they helped create.

I can't think of a single war in recent history involving the Russkies that didn't involve at least some level of deliberate killing of civilians. In Georgia I saw photos of regular people chopped up from machine gun fire despite obviously being civilians. Russians videoed themselves burning the American flag and saying "you are next!" In Syria, I saw a video recently of Russian soldiers accusing some random Syrian fellow of either being a deserter of the Syrian army or being a member of ISIS. They worked on his arms and legs with a sledge hammer and cut off his head, cut off his limbs, and then set his body on fire. All of this they filmed. In Chechnya they were doing mass gang rapes of the men, apparently for the objective of breaking them in front of the women. And the troops in Belarus just got done pacifying Kazakhstan with explicit orders to fire on civilian protestors without warning. They flew in from there and landed in Belarus after getting some target practice.
If I were drinking coffee, it would be in my keyboard. Unbelievable.
Afghanistan 2.0 coming up!
During WW2, they managed to evacuate citizens in Europe as Hitler was starting out. Even with U-boats sinking ships in the Atlantic. Passenger liners were sent over. Kept safe by the Navy.
Sea planes were the basic transatlantic planes. (Wanted to make sure they could land at sea if they had mechanical trouble) Cruising speed of less than 200 mph. That made it a long journey so not very many flights were attempted.
Yet, they got out the civilians out that wanted to go.
At this point, I trust Putin to protect Americans FAR more than I trust Biden and his puppet masters. In fact, presuming Russia actually invades Ukraine, I will bet that Putin arranges for every single American there to be carefully protected and moved to a location of their choice. He is fully aware of how weak and humbling Biden is, and I have no doubt Putin would take advantage of the opportunity to cast himself as being more of a responsible, careful world leader than the American “President.”
