New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) called on lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to pass gun reform after the city announced that one officer had been fatally shot and another remained in critical condition during a shooting in Harlem on Friday evening.

“We don't make guns here. How are we removing thousands of guns off the street, and they still find their way into New York City? In the hands of people who are killers, constantly carbon highways of death, destroying our communities,” Adams said on Friday night. “We need Washington to join us and act now to stop the flow of guns in New York City and cities like New York.”

Mayor Adams should have a talk with ex-Mayor Rudy Giuilani who knew what had to be done. It’s not a mystery.

You don’t fix drunk driving by takingmthe liscences away from law biding citizens who don’t drink and drive.

I'd love to see a detailed schedule of ALL the laws these criminals broke in conducting this crime, spanning city, state, and federal governments.

It could go into the hundreds.

And yet, somehow, since God created the 10 Commandments, everything in top of "Thou Shalt Not Kill" hasn't stopped the carnage.

And this nimrod thinks HE can find The Magic Law? What arrogance.

Delusional thinking, once again, and again.

The “Stop and Frisk” policy was helped get lots of guns off the street as well as making criminals reluctant to carry them for fear of getting caught. That went away with De Blazio.

Since when has any law stopped anyone from disobeying it?

That hasn't stopped them from trying yet.

What an idiot. NYC doesn’t have a gun problem, they have a criminal problem.

Just legalize everything then? That’s a pretty general statement to make.

Lemme see. Killing cops is against the law, right? Yet criminals disobeyed the law against killing cops.

But, if we pass laws to outlaw guns, criminals will obey those laws, right?

Got it.

I actually continued reading this thread because of this cryptic utterance.

‘In the hands of people who are killers, constantly carbon highways of death, destroying our communities,” Adams said on Friday night.’

The only thing I can think of is that not only do killers bring guns, but they do so by driving on the interstate highway system, contributing to the carbon that is causing climate change. Or he simply had a few before giving his statement, it was friday night.

Freegards

So...the criminal broke New York City laws and the Clown Mayor of New York City wants others to lose their rights?

Eric Adams needs to go stand on the edge of a New York City subway platform while speaking in Cantonese.

The gun used by the killer was already illegal. More gun laws will not eliminate the illegal guns.

“Since when has any law stopped anyone from disobeying it?”

Maybe this one? All violent felonies are made capital crimes. No bail allowed. Trial must be held within 6 months of arrest, and execution must be carried out within one year of conviction.

Felon control works much better than gun control.

He said that as McNeil tried to leave the apartment, a third officer shot the man twice, hitting his right arm and head. Essig noted that McNeil was on probation after he was previously arrested for a felony conviction of narcotics in the city, adding that he had also been arrested four times outside of New York City.

Well, duh. Most crimes are committed by a small segment of the population, and the way to prevent them from committing more crimes is to isolate them from the rest of the population. That should be covered in the first day of the Police 001 class.

It's amazing to be able to watch the destruction of The Greatest City in the World during my lifetime.

Destroyed by stupidity.

Why should I, most definitely NOT a citizen of NYC, pay to prevent gun violence there. Let Mayor Davis pass his own law covering his kingdom.
