GOP’s Old Guard Out Of Touch With Their Voters On Election Integrity
The Federalist ^ | 1-13-2022 | Mollie Hemingway

"....Biden is lobbying to end the Senate’s legislative filibuster in order to push through his plan for a radical takeover of elections. The election bill would unconstitutionally empower the federal government to control state election procedures, and help make permanent the decreased election safeguards that caused so many problems throughout the country in 2020.

The response of the old guard of the Republican Party this week has been to wholeheartedly endorse the media narrative that the 2020 election had no significant problems, while also opposing Biden’s plan to run elections. It’s a politically insane approach......"

The GOPe IS THE PROBLEM. Nothing will improve as long as it exists.

The GOPe believes that the Dems will pull out every corrupt fraudulent tool in their bag to get this fraud bill into law, yet they committed no fraud in the 2020 elections.

Mollie Hemingway is aware of the truth, and so are the GOP’ers.

Yup. They’re out of touch with everything but their sweet kickback deals.

“It’s a politically insane approach......”

Nah. It’s an approach designed to appease their donors.

Imagine a house fire. The house is gone. It was called in too late and when the Fire Dept arrives, the house is a smoking ruin. A firefighter has a hose in hand, and indicates that he will spray water on the smoking remains, just to be safe.

And the Fire Chief says, “You do that, and you’re out of a job. The fire is out. You can see that. The smoke is meaningless. We don’t need to check anything. We should just leave right now. Don’t you dare spray water on anything.”

That would never happen. Imagine if word got out — what would citizens think of the Chief?

The GOP can either
1) Move ahead with efforts to ensure honest elections because it’s better to be safe than sorry.
2) Move ahead with efforts to ensure honest elections because, hey, it’s what the people want and — what the heck — you might as well give them what they want because they might vote for you if you do.

But the GOP has decided instead that where there’s smoke there can’t possibly be fire, and the absolute worst thing you could do is try to make elections more honest.

The gulf between leadership and the people in the GOP is striking. The only thing I can think of that rivals it is the gulf between the leadership and the people in the pews in the United Methodist Church. The people have been ignored for a long time. The GOP HATES its voters.

They are SO accustomed to second-tier power and their quisling “loyal, but-but-not-too-vocal opposition” it isn’t funny.

They’d RATHER piss off their constituents than have to deal with an unfriendly leftist crowd at all the DC galas, dinner parties, socials and other functions they build their existence around.

The smoke means the fire is working.

They were out of touch for decades before Trump became a politician, but became SO out of touch that Trump gave up nearly everything to call these scumbag Assistant Democrats out and defeat them in 2016. Of course, they’re still here…and need their clocks cleaned again.

Yeah, someone might call them “racis’”. WTF ever happened to “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!”? Looks like these days some folks would rather be stoned and sticked rather than be called names.

They are not out of touch. The outcome is exactly how they want it. Voters are only provided the illusion that their vote counts.

The Establishment has been determining elections for decades. Nixon beat JFK and everyone knows it. An establishment result.

Does anyone believe that they want to give up power and the unwashed voters decide? Trump first election was a fluke, they misjudged.

GOP incumbents hope that if they accept permanent minority status, they’ll be allowed to keep their cushy seats.

As republican grass roots voters, we have ONE MISSION, and that is to vote out every RINO traitor who must face a primary this year and in 2024 and beyond.

Never before have the RINOs outed themselves as they did in 2020. If these traitors win their primaries, after everything we saw them do and say, then we are done as a country.

You give Mitch McConnell way too much credit, he is Uniparty and he does not give f*ck all for what we want.

“The GOPe believes...”

I don’t think they actually believe it. They know the Democrats have been committing vote fraud at every opportunity, for well over a century.

They just won’t admit it because that would mean they would have to admit that Trump was right about something.
