Just eight months after authorities released Peter Jones early from prison on an attempted murder sentence he received for stabbing his girlfriend 17 times with a butcher knife, the 71-year-old viciously attacked his new girlfriend with an axe on New Year’s Eve, prosecutors said Sunday. He’s now charged with trying to murder her, too.

Prior to the 1993 attempted murder, he was convicted of second-degree murder in California in 1972, prosecutors said. He was paroled in 1978, made his way to Illinois, and was convicted the next year of rape, robbery, armed violence, and unlawful restraint, according to state records.

Do the crime, do the time. There is no reason to parole ANYONE!
Maybe no one violent. I could see paroling a father who killed a person that was abusing his young child. I could see paroling a police officer that was convicted of shooting a dangerous criminal trying to flee, when perhaps they intended to only tase them. I guess the key for me is what danger have they show to the “public”. There can also be crazy prosecutors that if we review over time we realize the punishment didn’t fit the crime.
Most woman after 60 are quite content to live without a man.
