Running against Trump is a losing strategy for Democrats in 2022

Biden's sinking and the Left has no agenda to run on

Way back in 2015, after reality-star, talk-show host Donald Trump announced he was running for president, Democrats were ecstatic.

“Hey,” they said giddily to one another, “let’s make that wacky billionaire the face of the Republican Party!”

That didn’t work out so well. In fact, it can be (and has been) argued that CNN and The New York Times had as much to do with electing Trump president as did Fox News and The Wall Street Journal. Mr. Trump was ratings gold that even the far-Left networks and “news” outlets couldn’t resist.

But after four years of negative coverage — Mr. Trump apparently just couldn’t do anything right — Joe Biden was able to harness the mainstream media in a way even Hillary Clinton was unable to do. The MSM simply held its nose and applauded Uncle Joe’s every utterance (a year later, of course, it turns out Mr. Biden is almost wholly unsuited for the job, but hey).

In a few weeks, it’ll be 2022, and 11 months after that, Americans will once again go to the polls, this time to select all 435 members of the House of Representatives and a third of the U.S. Senate. So the question now is: Can Democrats really run against Mr. Trump, who will have been out of the White House for two years, chilling down in Mar-a-Lago?

It can't be all they run against. They need to address inflation and how the GOP blocked their legislation. Even then they have their work cut out for them.

Likewise Trump can't run solely against Biden. If he does, he'll lose. He has to highlight what Biden did wrong but also what his plans for his second term are.

I keep getting spam text messages (supposedly) from a Trump org. Called “winnit.org”. I don’t dare click on the link.

Anyone familiar?

While I supported Trump wholeheartedly in 2016 and 2020, I hope he doesn’t run again. The current occupant of the White House is showing us that 78 is too old for the presidency. And Ronald Reagan probably got out just in time; his second term ended less than three weeks before his 78th birthday.

DJT doesn’t need to run against the cadaver because the cadaver is the poster child for “Vote for Trump!”, all by himself.

DJT would run against the border fiasco, and all its trimmings (crime, drugs, trafficking, dependency, disease). He won on the border in 2016 and he will do it again. He would run against cancel culture, CRT, antifa, double standards, a frightening, over-reaching bureaucracy that’s out of control). He would run on revamped education, and, of course, America First. And so much more.

He knows how to run for President. He’s done it twice and won twice; but he is still owed another term.

I would not worry about it. The Democrats hate Trump so much that they'll gladly cut of their nose to spirit their face. Besides, they won't take advice from the author.

Trump endorsements win 137-3, ‘few parallels’ in history

For anyone questioning former President Donald Trump’s lock on the Republican Party after his 2020 loss, look no further than the impact his endorsement packs.

In new polling of several House Republican primary races, a Trump endorsement pushes 2022 candidates past 50%, even against long-established incumbents such as Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney.

“The Trump endorsement is a true dagger,” said Zachary Moyle of SoCo Strategies. “Trump is the king of kingmakers.”

In last month’s elections, for example, Trump-endorsed candidates went four for four.

And according to Brian Jack, the former White House political director, Trump’s 2020 record was 120-2, and this year, it is 17-1.

“Results don’t lie,” he said. “The power of President Trump’s endorsement is undeniable.”

Seems to me all any R candidate would have to do is buy one of the signs they post gas prices on, and set it right beside the podium.

The current occupant of the White House is showing us that 78 is too old for the presidency.

Biden was unfit to be POTUS at 48, 58, 68, and 78. Dementia can hit some people younger than others. Lets see what Trump looks like at 78. Trump at 73 was working 40 year old reporters and Bureaucrats under the table, they were begging him to slow down they could not take pressure of trying to keep up with him. He was driving them to drink.

It doesn’t have anything to do with age-it has to do with health in general-

There are more farmers, ranchers, mechanic shop, restaurant, and other small business owners who are in their 70’s and 80’s and even older than there are younger ones-but those older people have a healthy lifestyle-and haven’t had 2 serious brain injuries-aneurysms-like Biden has had-something that catastrophic is not going to have a 100% pre-injury recovery-it is a permanent disability that causes memory loss, poor impulse control, etc-he should not have even been in the senate...

Nancy Pelosi has had so much botox put into her face that it has got to be having some bad effects-besides making her more evil-and she probably hasn’t lifted anything heavier than a glass of wine or liquor in years...

Bernie Sanders-much as I despise his communist ass-is obviously into healthy living and it shows-he’s crazy, but that isn’t new...

Pres Trump has a healthy lifestyle-he has even apparently lost some extra pounds-he is sharp enough to run an empire-I’m sure he is good to go for a long time...

They can holler about Trump but the caravan has moved on. Screeching about the danger to democracy will reassure their base but it won’t convince anyone to change their vote. The issues that energize the totalitarian Left are repugnant to the common population. They have forgotten about the Virginia debacle, and continue to march their leftwing thugs right into the teeth of a repulsed populace. Climate change, systemic racism, green new deal, transsexual insanity, all the things they are invested in, will crater in the voting booth. If the GOP has even minimal competence in communicating plans to address the real issues, the Rats are toast.
It would help if Trump continues to rally the base but dials back some of his less modulated statements in the meantime..

They will have to run Hillary against him. They have no one of any stature in the party and at least she has a loyal fan following.

They will have to run Hillary against him. P> Run? She can't even stand without falling over. They would be better off running Pelosi against Trump - even if Pelosi is dead. Democrats are going to lose, period.

“While I supported Trump wholeheartedly in 2016 and 2020, I hope he doesn’t run again.”

When the Republicans show us someone who understands the ISSUES (starting with the border and immigration) half as well as Trump, then I might consider that person.

But they’ve had since 2015 to find that person...so I can’t say I’m optimistic.
