The uniformed officers had just sat down when staff members asked them to leave because the workers felt uncomfortable about the officers’ weapons, the restaurant said.
Three uniformed San Francisco police officers sat down for a meal on Friday at an all-day breakfast restaurant. But it was not long before staff members of the restaurant, Hilda and Jesse, “felt uncomfortable with the presence of their multiple weapons” and “politely asked” the officers to leave, the restaurant said on Instagram on Saturday. That request drew widespread attention, with the San Francisco police chief criticizing the move and hundreds of people leaving negative ratings on the restaurant’s Yelp page. The police chief, William Scott, said in a statement on Twitter: “The San Francisco Police Department stands for safety with respect, even when it means respecting wishes that our officers and I find discouraging and personally disappointing.
“I believe the vast majority of San Franciscans welcome their police officers, who deserve to know that they are appreciated for the difficult job we ask them to do — in their uniforms — to keep our neighborhoods and businesses safe.”

What generation and society have we produced? Good night these people need their effing heads examined.
Lefties only “apologize” when their decisions cause them to lose money.
“Old cop young cop feel uptight
On a warm San Franciscan night”
Too late. Time to drop a ticket blitz on their azzes.
I have no sympathy for the SFPD in this. They help to support policies that lead to this way of thinking, so they should just get to suck it up.
These woke-ists are intimidated only by the law but not by the BLM and smash-and-grab mobs...
They found out they were bi-trans police persons of minority affiliation.
Apology? This restaurant owner needs to be told as per their own direction to never call the police again. Let them call their community organizers who oversee “safe spaces”.
...an idea.
Too late - why don’t you cater to your snowflake customers.
And pray you don’t need to call the police
“Lefties only “apologize” when their decisions cause them to lose money.”
Which is all the time.
“I have no sympathy for the SFPD in this. They help to support policies that lead to this way of thinking, so they should just get to suck it up.”
I wouldn’t be so quick to use such a broad brush to paint the rank and file along with the far more politically driven leadership.
IF I were Chief of Police I’d write a open letter to them in the newspapers and post it online:
Dear Hilda and Jesse,
As Chief of Police I fully understand your fears and will from now on instruct all my police officers, in uniform or plain clothes, to avoid your restaurant(s) at all times.
We will no longer cause you or your customers to fear because of our presence.
In fact, We will no longer defile your establishment(s) under ANY CONDITIONS WHATSOEVER!
We will not come anywhere near your restaurant(s) so you can rest assured that we in the Police Forces want you to feel safe..............................
A helluva price to pay for being stylish.
“911”
Someone set fire to our restaurant!
“I’m sorry, you have reached a line that has been disconnected or is no longer in service”
They must pay officers pretty well if they can afford to eat in a restaurant with $18 pancakes and $39 steak and eggs.
Too bad, so sad (not really)......I pray you never recover. Idiots have no business in business. We have enough already.
That would make them (gulp) capitalists?
If I were a policeman I would NEVER eat out. You never know who will spit in your food. People do not know how to behave anymore. People today are disgusting vile creatures. Today’s young adults are vile and hateful beings, I cannot even call them humans.
