I can see 7 or 8 shots into the back of scooter guy, but 9? What kind of people are they hiring? Never mind.
I think back in the ‘70s the controversy was if the officer fired a warning shot before pumping lead into someone’s back who was running away, armed or not. If they did, then it was fine.
The cop is an idiot. He unloaded all the rounds into scooter guy’s back.
Cop shot scooter guy nine times in the back.
the smash and grab is for the young and athletic.
Waiting on the boot lickers to say it was a good shoot.
He was a fleeing felon.

No it doesn’t.
I support police but not all police. Another guy wanting a feather in his cap it looks like.
The guy was in a wheel chair, wasn’t even out of it or facing them. I mean how mobile could he have been? (the was getting up but slowly)
TASER?
The Tueller drill would not apply if the guy could not get up from the scooter. But he would still be a threat if you moved in closer, such as to arrest him. Tough call.
It only works if the cop was using a walker.
Now ah, when I say “Stop!” don’t you risk your life
When I say “Freeze!” just ah, drop your knife
Or I’ll shoot the Hoveround, I declare “Blast the Hoveround!”
Yeah plug the Hoveround...
Every cop’s a shootin’ Hoverounds!
I normally take the cops side in these kinds of situations but can’t here. Makes me wonder if this was a new on the job cop because your well trained cops don’t want to be cops anymore.
Cop is guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
Perhaps the first 8 were warning shots...that went astray?
Straight up murder by the shooter. There was no reason to have drawn a firearm. Could have stopped the perp by tossing blocks in front and behind his scooter. Prison time since we don’t execute murderers anymore.
If you're focusing on the mobility chair then you're just looking for an excuse to jam up the police officer because that detail is completely irrelevant. The fact that you've got hold of a mobility scooter DOES NOT prove that you're handicapped or mobility-impaired. Wally World has its own scooters available for customers and any able-bodied person could walk in off the street and hop on one in the hope of garnering a little sympathy (and leniency) as he robs the store blind. It would be asinine to ask the officer to enforce the law any differently because the CRIMINAL happened to be in a mobility chair.
And as for nine shots in the back, remember the story in 2017 about the perp who Atlantic City police shot 45 times? The entire press howled about that one ... until they saw the video. In the end, the actions of seven of the officers involved were reviewed by a Grand Jury an ZERO indictments were returned. Shot 45 times in the front, back and side (the shot that killed him struck the top of his head while he lay on his back on the ground) and all 45 shots were RIGHTEOUS.
So I'm against strapping the officer into Ol' Sparky until I've heard what he has to say. I'm not saying give him a pass, I'm saying don't jump to any conclusions until you've heard his justification.
Works for me.
Probably unnecessary use of force. If the guy in the scooter with the knife could realistically get to someone fast enough to inflict death of grave bodily harm, the shots in the back might be justified for saving the life of another. If the guy in the scooter, who is sixty-something, is really handicapped, then some non-lethal force (taser) should have been exercised first. JMO.
Gus, of “Breaking Bad fame”, can tell you a little about guys in wheelchairs.
