Bottom line, the article was withdrawn.
“Those claims are simply false, and they distort the very goal of our work.”
Funny, this claim is ‘simply false’ given that someone else in the SA says they’re pulling back their wokeness guide ‘for review’.
In this case, the guide “Let’s Talk About Racism,” was issued as a voluntary resource, but it has since become a focus of controversy. We have done our best to provide accurate information, but unfortunately, some have chosen to ignore those efforts. At the same time, International Headquarters realized that certain aspects of the guide may need to be clarified.
Consequently, for both reasons, the International Social Justice Commission has now withdrawn the guide for appropriate review.
No the bottom line is that they did in fact publish an internal document which stated whites should pray for forgiveness for racism. The fact that the “Social Justice Committee” has not been disbanded and nobody has been removed from the organization is the clearest possible indicator that this garbage has become a core SA belief and the only reason they withdrew the article is letting the public know their disgusting “values” caused donations to shrink.
Too late..
I have already read it..
Get woke, go broke..
I wash my hands of them
Not good enough. It’s insulting to me that a Christian organization has a “social justice” commission in the first place, especially as that phrase has been stolen by woke activists as the emblem of their hateful ideology.
“We have done our best to provide accurate information, but unfortunately, some have chosen to ignore those efforts.”
That’s ANYTHING but an apology!
“These beliefs and goals are critically important because we know that racism exists, and we are determined to do everything the Bible asks of us to overcome it.”
?
It was always an attempt to destroy the Salvation Army.
And it doesn’t matter if it was withdrawn as long there is a “social justice committee” operating within the SA. That thing is a cancer. It can only be fixed by cutting it out.
We had just sent in our annual donation a couple of days before this whole issue erupted. I think SA was one of the few organizations that had the courage to stick up for traditional marriage, which is why we donated to them. Now the CRT material comes out, and I wish we hadn’t.
Isn’t enough to present the love of God through the gift of Christ our savior, and giving aid to the needy, without bringing race into it??? I don’t understand the compulsion to create misplaced white guilt, when you profess to believe in the one who is the expiation for the guilt of all who believe.
Clearly they have hired some young, woke staffers who are pushing this stuff. They need to experience a conversion of their hearts and understand the all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and through Christ all who come are forgiven. Race is entirely irrelevant.
I went to the SA website, and there was a bunch of talking points for the BLM, CRT there. So regardless of the exact verbiage, their website showed me who they are.
<< “We at The Salvation Army remain undeterred in our mission because we are confident in the power of the gospel”>>
The gospel of Louis Farrakhan, apparently.
When an organization starts talking about systemic/instituional racism, they're a lost cause; especially when they also talk about "keeping White Americans in power".
My interpretation of the Bible says all lives matter.
“International Social Justice Commission”
I want not part of any organization that that as one of its subsidiaries.
Salvation Army: “It’s all a complete and utter lie, we never said anything like that - and besides ,we withdrew the article that said that.”
Sorry, too little, too late - good luck S.A. living off the donations from liberals who hate religion.
Looks like the SA Spin Doctors have shown up.
“Crap, we got caught!”
