A nursing home in Connecticut is recovering from a significant coronavirus outbreak, after 89 residents and staff tested positive for the virus, facility leadership reported Monday.
The outbreak at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan, Connecticut, began in late September. Eight residents with "serious underlying health issues" died as a result of the outbreak, nursing home leadership said in a statement.
They said 78 residents and staff have since recovered since testing positive, and there are now only three active cases within the community of individuals living within the nursing home.
"We are encouraged to see only 3 active cases of covid-19 remaining within our nursing home. Of the total 67 residents affected over the course of this outbreak, 56 are fully recovered and off isolation. Sadly, we have lost 8 individuals with serious underlying health issues to Covid," Kevin O'Connell, the Geer Village Senior Community CEO, wrote.
Facility leaders said 87 of the 89 infected residents and staff were fully vaccinated, so leaders are "obviously concerned we experienced some level of waning immunity."

For the umpteenth time, vaccines do NOT BUILD a valve in nose to stop virus floating in. If virus material is floating near you, unless you are dead, you will breathe it in and get infected.
Function of vaccine comes into play AFTER the infection. Which is to stock up the body with additional anti-bodies. That increases your odds to kill the virus before it makes you seriously sick or kills you.
I have personal experience on this. The smallpox vaccine was so effective, it has made smallpox with 30%+ mortality rates extinct from earth. I had that vaccine in kindergarten, then 2 or 3 years later inhaled a load of that virus and broke out with pox and fever. But those anti-bodies present in my system helped me recover and 71 years later I am still healthy as a race horse, but I work out 25 minutes EVERY DAY in nearby gym.

Since the first 2 were nothing burgers, I will get the booster before sailing on the 2nd cruise. First was in September.

I NEVER tell anybody to get jabbed. It should be and still is voluntary. FBI will not raid your house before dawn if you skip the jabs.
If you read my 100+ posts on this issue with focus, you may realize my ONLY POINT has been these vaccines are a big nothing burger for causing side effects.
“Safe and effective”, say the ad nauseum TV ads for the jab...paid for with our tax dollars.
