As a 19-year old in the late 80s, it wasn't uncommon at all to be "involuntarily celibate" for me and my friends. We didn't really have game yet. We were still learning how to score, and often we'd go months (maybe longer) without getting laid. We called it "dry spells."

I think many young men today have been so saturated in porn, they've developed a skewed view of sex, of how to pick up women. They see so many people getting laid effortlessly on the internet that they think if they're not getting any, there's something wrong.
