The Biden administration on Thursday announced the deadline for his private employer vaccine mandate, raising serious questions about how the rule will exacerbate the supply chain crisis.
According to RealClearPolitics’ Tom Bevan, there is no exemption for the trucking industry and there will likely be drivers who quit over the mandate.
“So all the biggest trucking companies in America - who already face major driver shortages - will see a % of their workforce quit. Supply chain crisis is going to get much worse - very soon,” he warned.
Bevan noted that a significant percentage of drivers are unvaccinated, which doesn’t make much of a difference given “the very nature of the job is iconoclastic: they spend most of the day alone in the cab of a truck, having very little interaction with other people.”
This also means their risk of transmission is lower than other occupations, he said.

Pushing forward with the COVID mandate after the Democrats were repudiated in Tuesday’s elections just shows that they really don’t care.
Dems to American Citizens, “Bend over and grab your ankles.”
Just like the "gun" violence in places like Chicago won't get better until the city runs out of young black men to shoot each other and bystanders. Right now the population loss from Chicago gun violence is low enough to be sustainable and profitable for the professional grievance civil-rights people and community organizers.
If the Teamsters, Longshoremen and other organized carriers do NOT strike over this, they are insane.
If there has EVER been a moment that they had carte blanch to assert their power and massively grab power and influence, this is it.
Since many small trucking companies employ less than 100 they should be OK, but the ;larger ones and one that are part of some major chain’s fleet, like Target, will have to get the shots to load in any CA port (independents are, by law, not allowed to work in CA).
This will greatly increase the length of time getting containers out of the ports, mean fewer warehouse workers to unload the trucks, fewer railroad employees to work the rails and just generally cause people to not work or find some other line.
Democrats always coming up with some way to fix a non-existent problem by making things worse. Or how the Dems are imitating the CCP.
I will definitely take this under advisement and action.
Democrats don’t change their agenda to please the electorate when they get jack-slapped at the polls. They try to dilute/replace the electorate instead via third world “migrants” and voter fraud.
Good point, Penguin! Let’s see what happens.
No union is going to strike over an issue where 75% or more of their members have bent over and shoved the starfish up their collective @sses.
I suspect, in fact I’m near certain, the action was made with the consent or possibly at the urging of LABOR. The Union bosses in a severely weakened state some how will use the mandate to increase their power.
Fortunately for America, their terrorist leader Richard Trumka is no longer a plague on American society and can’t lead the effort
And the lawyers, don't forget the lawyers.. The REAL money in crime is made defending it...
As I understand the situation (and I could very well be wrong) the ports contract out to these folks(teamsters/long shoreman) to do the work and are not inclined to pay the higher price for off shift and weekend labor costs. I believe the workers would work if the contractors let them. Anyone?
Why do you think OSHA waited to publish the rule until the day after the election?
The good news? this is slowing down China, too?
Hopefully long enough to restore sanity in America?
Read or posted something yesterday about the ETS/OSHA 30 day comment period including a means to bring companies with less than 100 employees to their knees as well. Uh, I mean into compliance.
The *”Boston Bulldozer” is saying this morning, the end date is January 04, 2022.

We don’t do Christmas gift in a Big Way in my family; always consumables as much as possible. I mean, I’d LOVE a ham or coffee or toothpaste or TP for Christmas, LOL!
That said, how about everyone order/buy LOCAL this season if you don’t already do so? Even if you need something shipped to you, every State Chamber of Commerce has a website that touts businesses within their State.
I’m lucky in that Wisconsin has some really amazing businesses that make wonderful gifts for others: local wineries, Duluth Trading Company, Lands’ End, just to name a few.
Buy someone a 1/4 steer or pig for Christmas. Who wouldn’t love that?
Think Locally! :)
Skips the US holidays.
