The plantiffs own the land the statue was on, and own the statue? So was the invasion of the cornerstone looking for treasure and the subsequent placing of a different statue tresspassing and illegal taking??

These removals are just plain wrong and started by Obama.
And the statue of Martin Luther King (also Obama) does NOT belong on the Mall or anyplace near it. Put the ugly piece of work in King's hometown.
And in Rochester NY, they really went overboard...There are 13 statues of Frederick Douglas all over the city and little to no notice of white people who had come well before him in NYS and abolished slavery in 1827. He didn't come to Rochester in 1843.
