give it back to the states
I’m curious where in the constitution does the federal government have the right to own land within state borders.
They have the right of acquire land for legitimate federal government purposes.
Their ownership of these vast territories should be turned over to the states to run and manage.

You mean like the MONUMENT FIRE that came down into my front, back, and both side yards?
Just a good thing I have a tractor and a verity of chain saws; my house, shop, and out buildings are still there.
A lot of other folks have NOTHING LEFT!
I’m here in California, the USFS is my neighbor on 3 sides, all 3 of those sides just burned into a fine gray ash during the MONUMENT FIRE, guess its time to DROWN SMOKEY THE BEAR!
And to think, I used to be a USFS firefighter!
I had no idea, but with my acreage I’ve probably got enough of my own :)
I’ve clearly been misinformed. Was told that about timber and also that I couldn’t forage for mushroom in there. Now I will gather my beloved mushrooms if I spot one on the way through my right of way to the land.
It has also resulted in many sawmills in the NW US going out of business and destroying many rural communities. This has resulted in dead, old and dying timber left where in the previous 50+ years it was harvested. In addition, in the last 15 years we have seen the infestation of the Pine beetle that has killed millions of acres of Lodgepole Pine and Ponderosa Pine in the Pacific NW US and Canada.
In BC and AB Canada they were very proactive in harvesting this timber. They developed a very aggressive strategy and forced the sawmills to take the dead timber. They literally gave it to them for free. They just had to go out and cut it down. So, now most of this dead Lodgepole Pine has been cut in Canada. However, the USFS was not as aggressive. Much of it remained and eventually burned.
If this dead timber was not harvested quickly enough it became virtually worthless to the sawmills because the grade yield was so bad. However, there has become a market for Blue Stained Pine boards run to pattern. For example, 1x6 t&g V-edge with blue stain is very popular in the Denver area. 1x8 with the same pattern is popular down in OK and MO. So, this blue stained timber that was once sold at a discount, now goes for a premium in certain markets.
Generally, though dead timber has more defects in it that results in a lower grade of lumber. Therefore, the logging sales get sold at a discount to green timber.
The preservationists learned that IF they can delay the sales after a forest fire burn long enough, eventually no one wants to buy the timber.
So, even after a forest fire on NFS lands, the preservationists will get a judge to hold up a salvage timber sale long enough that eventually there are no buyers.
Biden is going to give every American 30 acres?
