WASHINGTON, D.C. – Medical experts are reporting that a new variant of the COVID-19 virus – known as “Mu” – has been detected in almost all 50 U.S. states, and it is proving to be potentially immune to all vaccines that are currently in use.
According to The World Health Organization (WHO), the Mu variant – also known as B.1.621 – may not be impeded by either individuals who have been fully inoculated against the virus that causes COVID-19, or by people who have acquired a degree of immunity after having been previously infected.

Sorry to hear about that but in my state they went back through those kinds of cases and reclassified the primary cause of death from covid to whatever it was, plus “with covid infection”.

There’s no reason to think ivermectin would work any better or worse on a new variant than it does on an old variant. Not like the vaccines.
An unnatural virus that is capable of being harbored in animal reservoir, and provable zoonotic transfer to humans at any time/place?-— well, don’t count on those odds, and wouldn’t want to give a %-age on the likelihood of increased infectivity.
The notional endpoint for a “new” variant strain which is defined as a new S-Protein sequence that is “more infective” is for the recipient having considerably more immunity from the entire virus sequence (acquired through the ACE2 receptor/S-Protein matchup) gained from having survived the full genetic sequence effects once it go into an individual.
The conundrum is— what seems to be “said” cannot be supported, unless they are saying the full virion DNA sequence has also mutated to such an extent that prior immunity developed to any and all segments of it are likely negated. On a person to person basis (with all the variability of immune response that is so varied) it seems highly unlikely. If the PCR is the basis for this it is a real stretch for continuing the Wu-wooh honking.
The MU variant originated allegedly in Columbia. It ran for 8 months before starting to burn out but still accounts for 39% of Columbian cases and 13% of Ecuador cases.
Curiously, the initial highest US prevalence was in Alaska, with 132 cases. Los Angeles had 167 cases between Jun 19 and Aug, with the most cases seen in July, and a total of 232 cases by 9/5. It was spread, likely by illegals, to Florida, where it was 20% of cases by July 26. In three months, it’s spread from Alaska and California to 47 states and DC.
MU carries several key mutations, including E484K, N501Y and D614G, that have been linked with increased transmissibility and reduced immune protection. E474K and N501Y were first seen in B.1.351 Beta (South Africa/Nigeria) and P.1 Gamma (Brazil).
N501Y enables cell penetration, E484K (aka EEK) reduces time to symptoms and enables the virus to spread even among vaccinated folks, and D614G (aka Doug) fortifies the spike and enables antibody escape. (vaccinated and naturally acquired antibodies both)
The good news is, Johnson and Johnson vaccine should show good results against this variant, as it held up well against Beta and Gamma variants in trials.
