The synthesis and development of ivermectin by Merck in the 1970s and 1980s provided a breakthrough treatment against infectious diseases transmitted by parasites. This discovery resulted from an international collaboration that screened hundreds of natural products to identify a promising lead compound. Merck scientists synthesized thousands of analogs of this lead and tested them. The result, ivermectin, offered a highly effective treatment for several parasitic diseases affecting a variety of animals. Following its approval for human use in 1987, Merck established a worldwide program to donate ivermectin as Mec- tizan® to treat onchocerciasis (river blindness), greatly reducing the prevalence of this debilitating disease. In 2015, Merck scientist William Campbell shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his role in developing ivermectin.

The chick, from what I read a few years ago, was trying to come up with a way to deal with Malaria, so she went back to texts from 2000 years ago and tried to formulate them, nothing worked, and she wasn’t the first to fail. So she looked MORE CAREFULLY, and found that the texts had specific temperatures and times when mixing the chemicals - she did that...and we got our asses kicked in Vietnam. But even so, she was AMAZING.

The drug is so INCREDIBLE that it puts you at risk if you’re loaded with worms (which in just about impossible in the formerly ‘civilized’ world like the US)...because it kills them all at once, and all those dead bugs can overload your body’s sanitation systems.

Sorry I can’t join in the humor that I’m seeing in this thread, though. What the FDA has done to suppress and to disparage the use of ivermectin isn’t just standard-fare corruption, it’s nothing short of criminal. Doctor Pierre Kory estimates that 100,000 lives could have been saved in the US if the FDA and the CDC had promoted the use of ivermectin back when he first testified to congress about it last winter.
The 'benefits to blacks' part is because it is widely and very successfully used in Africa to treat parasites in the populace. That it works on all humans and may work to greatly mitigate the effects of COVID-19 is another matter. Focus on painting the MSM as racists for wanting to deny an effective medical treatment to blacks.
I took my first dose of Ivermectin on 9/1 and plan to take it prophylactically on the first of every month. However, this quote on page 3 of the article gives me pause as a treatment for Covid: “At Campbell’s urging, his colleagues studied ivermectin as a potential treatment for river blindness. Ivermectin is a particularly attractive treatment because it has no antibacterial or antiviral activity, and has few serious side effects.” I’m not sure why this would make it more attractive as a treatment, but OK.
This article was written in 2016, so that statement is not politically or conspiratorially motivated.
Where does the knowledge that Ivermectin has non-Covid antiviral properties come from? Because they clearly were not known when this article was written.
