Going out the same way Arlen Spector did — bitter and without a political home.

And I think we will learn a lot from the next set of primaries,” he said.

"Going out the same way Arlen Spector did — bitter and without a political home."

And no board to have a seat at.

I watched Specter descend from a fool on the Warren Commission pumping his magic bullet theory to a somewhat respectable senator representing Pennsylvania. He had a fairly good track record during the Nixon, Carter, and Reagan administrations. He seemed to model himself after Sam Nunn, an ethical democrat.

Then came the Clinton and Obama years where Specter became a useful idiot to the left. Very strange. He should have exited politics while he was on top.

Astute observation. Can’t these guys just retire and keep their mouth shut?

“Sock-it” should be focusing on his family life not some political what-if three years in the future.

The late Mister Spector ended up, one suspects, with no allies and few friends.

Metaphorically "toxic".

Mister Toomey appears to want the same lonely future. (Might he think that we GOP voters are, um, "misled"?

As for President Trump? Who knows if he'll run again? I suspect that he will hand the candidacy to someone else (DeSantis comes readily to mind) however he'll keep the Dems/Marxists/progressives guessing to the last entertaining minute.

I also suspect that Trump would remain as a trusted advisor in any future GOP admin.

Just my guesses.
