The National Rifle Association announced Tuesday it is canceling the upcoming annual meetings in Houston, Texas, citing reports of a coronavirus outbreak.
The NRA’s decision came after numerous gun manufacturers had already made clear they would not be coming to the meetings.
The Daily Beast reported Benelli USA, Beretta USA, Sig Sauer, Sturm, Ruger & Company, and others had sent notice that they would not attend.
As of Tuesday this week, the Daily Beast noted the list of manufacturers expected to forgo the NRA event included “Benelli, Browning, FN Herstal, H&K, Kimber Manufacturing, Savage Arms, Springfield Armory, Sig Sauer, Ruger…[and] ammunition producer Vista Outdoor.”

Coronavirus distancing OR NRA distancing...
Somebody threatened Somebody.
It is amazing... the “delta variant” is extremely contagious but no more lethal a typical flu virus. It comes and goes quickly in areas that it visits leaving the population better protected from other strains of coronavirus than any vaccination could ever hope to achieve. Yet because of extreme propaganda people are freaking out again.
Life member, live in San Antonio, and I wasn’t going.
Naked women and money falling from the sky won’t get me to Houston.
Bunch of pansies.
The naked women probably have a social disease and the money is probably counterfeit. Wise choice.
A convenient excuse for cancelling an NRA meeting that was set to be explosive. Angry members were set to grill the Board in their handling of the NY Attorney General attack, Wayne LaPierre’s use of NRA funds for personal purposes, and the mishandling of the aborted NY bankruptcy filing and corporate charter move to Texas.
...and a ton more, not to mention their complicity in every law passed by the US Congress in violation of “Shall Not be Infringed since 1871.
With rare exceptions, “The Board” historically has been on the wrong side of realville in my humble opinion. Jr member and later adult member maybe ten times, and every time shown the door by actions deemed not in accordance with the Constitution or benefit to the membership.
Call it the American Rifle Association, call it Americans in Support of the 2nd Amendment Association, call it what ever you want, but port over to the new organization the good (the institutional knowledge on how to lobby nationally and in statehouses) and leave the bad (Mr. La Pierre, etc.)
Nothing but hypochondriac nonsense. But it’s irrelevant to me; I won’t pay any more NRA dues until Wayne Lapierre is GONE.
Bingo...
Furthermore, I would suggest that folks search for jurisdictions controlled by Conservative Republicans through which a minimal nexus of presence is linked to liberal organizations - and go after them a la NYS on the NRA.
Was just going to say....what wusses.
