I agree with most of your post. However, India would respond to a nuclear attack by Pakistan with as many or more nukes, unless the Paks caught India completely off guard with a launch of most of what they (the Paks) have. Karachi has roughly 15 million in it’s urban areas alone, and is even more densely packed than anything in India, unbelievable as that seems. (Actually, the Filipinos seem to have the ultimate edge on packin’ ‘em in.)

Anyway, after a serious nuclear exchange, I’d say both India and Pakistan would not be in very good shape at all. Which is likely why it hasn’t happened.
However, with both India and Pakistan badly wounded, that still leaves China unfettered, so, there I mostly agree with you.
I think these Jihad Johnny’e have people in their midst that
would mind dying, and taking many with them. That’s where
the tit for tat thing breaks down for me.
