The Taliban has never kept their word. Ever. And they never will. Yet Trump made a deal with them.

If you want to leave Afghanistan in a safe, orderly way, while leaving a behind a good, stable government, you had to bring in the Taliban into the deal or there would be no deal.
Deals have been made with bad actors throughout history on every continent with humans and nations on it.
I can give you plenty of examples if you want.

They say Biden broke the deal by keeping forces in Afghanistan LONGER than Trump would have. That should tell you that if Trump's deal came to fruition, this massacre would've just happened sooner than it's happening now.

Um, nope.
Read what Pence said and I quote:
“As long as these conditions were met, the U.S. would conduct a gradual and orderly withdrawal of military forces.”

It's not about whether to withdraw or not. It's about a safe, orderly, gradual withdrawal leaving behind a government that unites people from all sides. That's what President Trump had been working on for 4 years.
It took Dementia Joe just 7 months to engineer an utter disaster.

If you believe there was ever a scenario where as soon as the final American troops pulled out of AFG and the Taliban didn’t break their agreement, then I have a bridge to sell you. It would not matter who was sitting in the White House at the time. Once we left, the Taliban would take brutal control back. It was always going to end this way. So now Republicans can use it for political gain because there is a buffoon as President. Afghanistan is now a political issue, and Republicans have a chance to use it to win the midterms. Let’s see how they do.

***Bit of a pipe dream. That’s why I have been pushing my emBASEee strategee for several years. From my home page

I have been advocating for several years a policy I call ‘embaseees’. Embassy + AirBase —> EmBASEeees. We go into a terrorist country, clear out their taliban equivalent, then withdraw to very large Embassies, perhaps 3 of them. Have them big enough to encompass a military airbase where we can use it for decades on end to conduct anti-terrorism operations. As long as the ‘host’ country aint killing Americans then we let them have self-sovereignty. Kind of like how we operated in the Phillipines for decades. We could even have an intermediate zone that we patrol but it would be autonomous. Let them have their taste of freedom. A referendum every 10 years to see how large the boundaries of the intermediate autonomous zone should be.
