Disgraced outgoing Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s stain is even affecting the legacy of his late father, three-term Gov. Mario Cuomo.
Some Democrats are entertaining a push to remove Mario Cuomo’s name from the new $4 billion Hudson River crossing in Rockland/Westchester — an idea unthinkable just months ago.
It would be renamed with its original moniker — the Tappan Zee Bridge.
Queens Assemblywoman Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, a Democratic socialist, has signed on as a co-sponsor of the bill to rename the bridge.

It should be renamed the Mario the Pious and Sons Bridge.
Somewhere around here, I have a personal letter signed by Don Mario for some volunteer work I did in Manhattan in the 1980s when he was the New York goober.
I wonder if there’s any money in selling it, now that his sons Sonny and Fredo have completely mucked up the Cuomo “legacy”?
They changed the name of the Tappan Zee Bridge to the Mario Cuomo Bridge? When did that happen?
I just drove over the Tappenzee a few weeks ago. My GPS calls it Tappenzee. Can’t even look at the Mario sign when I cross.

How about the Clinton Crossing?
If this Hochul, or whatever her name is, wants to get NYers on her side she will do two things immediately after taking office:
1- return the name of the bridge back the Tappan Zee
2- immediately overturn comrade diblasio’s vaccine mandates for restaurants/gyms
assuming you’re not being sarcastic, the changed the name when the opened up the rebuilt bridge, which is actually very nice...granted 99% of us still call it the Tappan Zee, just like we call it the Triborough bridge rather than the RFK Bridge.
All Kabuki Theater to distract from the 1000s that were murdered or left to die,ALONE, per his directives.
Unless the thousands of family members of those that were murdered unite and demand more, he walks away from it.

Also, here is the Tappan Zee origin (a natural widening of the Hudson River about 3 miles wide):
Etymology: Tuphanne, a Lenape term thought to mean “cold water”, and zee, Dutch for Sea.
Zeeland, Michigan has lots of Dutch people.
I still think there has to be a black saint revolutionary/felon who could be tapped. Malcolm X Bridge?
