The largest teachers’ union in the country has filed a lawsuit against a Rhode Island mom to block her numerous requests for public records regarding her school district and Critical Race Theory, prompting her to fire back, “I just got served with a lawsuit from the teacher union NEARI. Throwing down the gauntlet, are we? Game on.”

Nicole Salas, who started her odyssey in challenging the school district back in April, continued by writing, “Today the teacher union NEA filed ANOTHER lawsuit against me —this time a Temporary Restraining Order and Preliminary Injunction. Will teacher unions bullying moms be an everyday thing now?”

Just take the kids out of the government school system. It’s a lost cause. They will continue to indoctrinate your children as they have been doing for decades. The system is beyond hope. If you put your kids in private school, make sure you know what is being taught there, too.
This seems so surreal. How could some entity file a lawsuit to stop someone from making FOIA requests?
And make sure you are intimately aware of the culture in the school as well. I’ve seen Christian parents who laid out a lot of time and money to give their children a biblically-based, Christian worldview education, only to see their children abandon the faith because the private school they attended had the same or worse behavioral issues and “drama” that exists in any public school.
good job mom! when you’re taking flak from the enemy, you’re doing good.
The mom is asking for public information. As such, the union should have no standing.
Christian Schools, private charters, and other alternative brick-and-mortar schools, have become dumping grounds for parents who think they need a better quality of instruction for their little dears because they cannot fathom that Johnny’s status as a campus hellion originated at home.
“... the union should have no standing.”
This is Rhode Island.
Odds are 8:5 it’ll be a big lib Judge, and the issue of standing will be dismissed with a casual wave. Perhaps even a slight sniff, and a muted, “Ahem.”
but but but they are not tyrants. they are doing it for the kids.

Ultimately, Nicole received a bill for $74,000 to fulfill a public records request filed by the Goldwater Institute on her behalf in July.
That's a lot of paper and toner.
The unions are allowed to carry out their particular form of fascism because they give big money to the democrats. In effect, the government is silencing speech it doesn’t like, by proxy. Just as illegal as doing it directly.
If Judicial Watch or some other group would get involved on the mom’s side of this, I’d give them another donation.
People get your kids out of government schools.
NEA=Nazi Extremist Authoritarians
How much are people willing to sacrifice for their children? Smaller house or rent? Old car? We couldn’t afford private ed so we homeschooled, and yes, that involved financial sacrifice, too. I’m not saying it’s easy, but what is more important than keeping your children from being told they are evil because they are white, that males and females are interchangeable, or that the capitalism and freedom are evil?
I understand that the government is bleeding us dry, but the only thing that will stop the evil going on in the government school system is for parents to take their children out of these schools en masse.
Daily we see stories about school boards and teachers. Enough of this garbage.

I gave you the only answer I had. Sorry that was inadequate.
