Missouri Governor Mike Parson (R) announced that he had pardoned 12 people, including Mark and Patricia McCloskey, who pled guilty to firearms charges following an incident in front of their home during last summer’s violent protests after the death of George Floyd.
The McCloskeys outraged black activists and Democratic radicals when they appeared on the front lawn of their house on June 28, 2020, in a viral video brandishing their weapons at protestors. The protesters were characterized in the media as “peaceful” despite the fact that several Americans had already died in the rioting. Retired policeman David Dorn, 77, was shot to death in his pawnshop by St. Louis rioters on the morning of June 2, 2020.
Three weeks later on July 20, radical, George Soros-backed St. Louis circuit attorney Kimberly Gardner trumped-up weapons charges against the McCloskeys. They were indicted by a grand jury in October. In a statement, Gardner said, “We must protect the right to peacefully protest, and any attempt to chill it through intimidation or threat of deadly force will not be tolerated.”
Mark McCloskey had a different take on the confrontation. “A mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed towards my home where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear of our lives,” Mark McCloskey, 63, told KMOV.
Threats and intimidation are perfectly alright when “peaceful protesters” are involved. But someone defending their lives and property? Not so much.
The images garnered national attention, prompting President Donald Trump to speak out in defense of the couple. Trump and other Republicans considered the McCloskeys law-abiding homeowners defending their property. Others saw the couple as overly aggressive toward demonstrators.

And I thought they were Democrats. I sure hope they’ve been rethinking their political affiliations.
About bloody time the Guv pardoned them. Yeah, he had to wait. I know.
The AG’s office broke all kinds of laws persecuting this couple. They altered the wife’s pistol — it was unfireable — so that it would fire, and then they could press charges. The AG collected campaign donations on the back of this persecution. They, AG’s office, were expecting to get rid of non-commie Guv’na. But, that failed and he could do what he promised.
Note, similar plan is playing out in Austin. That vet who shot his way out of an armed attack on the Drag is NOW being prosecuted by a similar AG — expecting Abbot to lose.
A bit of good news.
He’s running for US Senator as a Republican.
“They altered the wife’s pistol — it was unfireable — so that it would fire, and then they could press charges.”
Imagine a cop doing that. Easily a felony...for normal humans.
Good for the Governor.
Great news....
OK so I am looking at this from a Canadian point of view, where our gun rights are limited. I thought the second amendment would secure the rights of gun owners to brandish their weapons on their own property. If not, what is the point of the second amendment?
Brandishing and pointing are two different things. I was cringing watching the video of his idiot wife flipping that gun around like a yo-yo. I’d like to think if that was me, I would have been outside with my AR15 pointing down like the husband did and keeping my mouth shut.
