Russia calls on the U.S. to drop the idea of holding the Sea Breeze 2021 multi-national naval military drills in the Black Sea. The Russian embassy in the United Statesd left the respective statement on Twitter.
"The large scale and clearly aggressive nature of Sea Breeze drills do not meet the real security challenges in the Black Sea region. They increase risks of unitended incidents. They welcome the militarist views in Kyiv. We decisively urge the U.S. and their allies to refuse from training in military actions in the Black Sea", reads the message.
According to the Russian diplomats, "the countries in this region can solve all problems without "forcing" the assistance from abroad".
Russia has been occupying Ukraine's Crimean peninsula and part of Donbas, fueling the military action in Donetsk and Luhansk regions since 2014. The Crimean ports in the Black Sea are currently under Russia's control. In spring 2021, Russia performed large-scale military drills near the Ukrainian borders.
As is known, Sea Breeze 2021 will incorporate the record-large number of countries; the U.S. Navy Sixth Fleet confirmed their participation. 32 countries, 5,000 military men, 32 ships, 40 airplanes and 18 diving teams will join the event.
Sea Breeze has been held in Ukraine annually since 1997.

It’s hard to think of a dumber place for the USA and NATO to pick a naval battle than the Black Sea. It’s Russia’s swimming pool and they will never cede it. Closing the Dardanelles would be child’s play and any NATO forces would be destroyed in detail.
