IN THE SPRING of 2008, the NFL was in crisis. A hard-charging United States senator from Pennsylvania named Arlen Specter had launched an investigation into the Spygate scandal. He tried to determine how many games the New England Patriots' illegal videotaping operation of opposing coaches' signals had helped the team win and learn why the NFL, under the orders of commissioner Roger Goodell, had destroyed all evidence of the cheating. By May, Specter -- a former Philadelphia district attorney and a lifelong Eagles fan -- was so angry at the "stonewalling" of his inquiry by the league and the Patriots that he called for an independent investigator, similar to the Mitchell investigation of steroid use in professional baseball. League executives and coaches might be forced to testify under oath. The prospect sent the league, and its new commissioner, into panic. "If it ever got to an investigation," Goodell said at one point, "it would be terrible for the league."
The NFL tried to combat the Specter inquiry with public statements from teams that were the primary victims of New England's spying saying the league had done its due diligence. It wasn't working.

If trying to bribe a public official with campaign donations is a crime, wouldn't it be a greater crime for a public official to shakedown someone for campaign donations in order to have their viewpoint heard?

Arlen Specter— the magic bullet member of the Warren Commission. Arlen Specter was a crazed individual, invoking Scottish law into our judicial proceedings. Pat Toomey considered a ‘conservative’ to replace Spector in the Senate race. In 2010 Spector, a Ukrainian/Russian jew (non practicing also) heritage— left the repub party and went full demonrat, pals with the Hitlery and Feinstein crew of pro-Chi-Coms.
2010 (that’s 11 years ago btw): Pennsylvania Democratic Party overwhelmingly endorsed Specter at the Democratic State Committee’s annual endorsement.

I remember it being said at the time that Tom Brady wasn't really that great of a QB because he had a coach (Belichick) who cheated for him to give him every advantage on the field. Basically a mediocre 6th round draft pick was the beneficiary of an evil genius who would do anything to win.
Well I think the air went out of that theory when Brady won a Super Bowl his first year away from the Patriots while Belichick's Brady-less team had quite a mediocre season.

The only hard charging ol’ Magic Bullet Arlen ever did was to switch sides when it could flip control of the Senate to the Democrats. He was a RINO’s RINO.
Elected officials are whores and apparently Specter was a cheap one.

Over 3 decades, $11,300 is a drop in the bucket. That amount of money would not cover the fuel for Trump to fly from New York to Palm Beach.

Spectre was always a democRAT, even when he called himself a Republican. He started out in politics as an assistant DA in Killadelphia as a dem, and switched parties when he went for a statewide office. Spectre is also the one who made sure that hippie murderer Ira Einhorn was sprung from jail giving him the opportunity to flee the country.
That’s pocket lint at the level we’re talking about.

Spector was also the lawyer who made it possible for Ira Einhorn to evade justice for almost 20 years.
Among the many outrageous despicable things Spector did in his sorry, miserable life that one really stands out! I thought Einhorn was a sorry POS, but I think Spector was a little worse!
