Except for Trump and Reagan, every Republican I’ve voted for has been what I considered the lesser of two evils. It is extremely difficult to vote for a politician I know disdains 90% or more of the people who vote for him (Bush, Romney, McCain, McConnell, Collins, Murkowski, and my two Senators and Representatives). The party itself claims it stands for conservatism, liberty and traditional values but there are only a handful who actually work for what the part stands for. The rest are self centered opportunists who are in politics for the money, power, and ego gratification. They could vote for anything on a given day if it will preserve or enhance their status. They have no problem rationalizing collaborating with those who seek to destroy the Republic and the lives of their constituents.
So which is worse,
1). the criminal who invades your house through the front door, stabs you in the chest, ransacks your home, and leaves you to die on the floor
2). the friendly neighbor who uses the key he has to your house to open your door for the criminal killer in order to keep his own house from being robbed?
Is there really a “lesser of two evils” or is evil simply evil? If the latter, then we should simply stop voting.
