...Parental consent is something children have to contend with across the country, but it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach as states have differing rules.
Nearly all states require consent from a parent or guardian to administer a Covid-19 vaccine shot to children ages 12 to 15, the group the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved for shots this month, according to a recent CNN analysis.
There are exceptions in just five states: In North Carolina, teenagers can receive vaccinations without parental consent; in Tennessee and Alabama, teenagers 14 and older don’t need consent; in Oregon, the age is set at 15; and in Iowa, it’s up to the health care provider to decide.
In all other states, those 12 to 15 are required to have parental approval before receiving the Covid-19 vaccination. For teenagers 16 to 18, though, it’s all over the map.

...Kelly Danielpour, who runs VaxTeen, said that among the dozen or so queries she gets every day, many are from teenagers contending with parents opposed to them getting vaccinated against Covid-19.

The first step, she said, is arming the teenagers with information and resources they can use when talking to their parents — and in some cases that has worked. She said she recently heard from a teenager whose parents relented after she made an argument to get vaccinated against Covid-19 using VaxTeen information.
But if that doesn’t sway parents’ opinions, she said, she tries to get the teenagers information about “minor self-consent.”
“It’s an issue of access, as well as consent,” Danielpour said.

They wanted all kids jabbed with the anti-HPV vaccine a decade ago.
And they want kids to be able to “minor-consent” for puberty blockers and get the abortion pill as well.
Yeah, just more of that “kids are smarter than their parents” communistic anti-family propaganda.
That not what they called where I was from. They called it playing with ones self, among other things.
Abortions & birth control at any age; transgender tx before puberty; shots at 14 or 15; but, can’t consent to sex until 18, or buy a handgun until 21, because they’re too immature to make such a life impacting decision.
Got it: Liberals have no concept of morals, ethics, logic or consistency.

Can’t say those of us who encouraged an exodus from the socialist government schools did not attempt to warn others.
These little Stalinists need to have their mobile phones, laptops, tablets and cars taken away by their parents. The parents need to pull their heads out of their collective rear ends, and start realizing that parenting is more than just driving the kids to school and dropping them off at various activities.

What is the recourse if/when the child has a reaction to the shot?
Even if it is nothing requiring hospitalization or lifelong impairment even 1-3 days illness with a 100 degree fever should be something a parent would pick up on.
I am not sure about age of consent for medical treatment, but I view it like age of consent for sex. If I were able, I would file criminal charges against the medical person(s) involved, followed by civil charges.
These people need to be run into the ground legally and financially. Hard.

Try to get to allow a kid the right to use some Advil in a public school and see what happens.
A note from the parents for an OTC is not enough. It must be a DOCTOR’S note to allow that.
And yet the left subverts parents at every turn trying to get someone else’s child medical treatment that the parent then has to end up dealing with the consequences of.
