George W. Bush Doesn’t Think It’s ‘Necessary’ to Withdraw Troops from Afghanistan

Former President George W. Bush has joined the chorus of establishment figures warning against the United States’ plan to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan following two decades of war in the country.

“I’ve always warned that no U.S. presence in Afghanistan will create a vacuum, and into that vacuum is likely to come people who treat women as second class citizens,” Bush said in an interview with Fox News.

Is it necessary for them to be in Afghanistan? That’s the question.

George W. Bush Doesn’t Think It’s ‘Necessary’ to Withdraw Troops from Afghanistan,

Of course he wouldn't. While I would never pull the lever for either Gore or Kerry, I so regret voting for than man.

Or Germany. Or Japan. Or the South. Or Mexico.

We learned nothing from the Russians. No matter that people try to create a civilized country, the Muslims won’t allow it. The Taliban will keep on fighting anyone who tries to interfere. George Bush should keep his trap shut.

Alexander the Great, The British Empire, the Soviet Union are among those who failed at filling that vacuum. It's geopolitically impossible?

Should we wait until the fate that befell the U.S.S.R. befalls the U.S.?

What vital interests of ours are at stake there?

We went into Afghanistan because the Taliban government was giving safe haven to Bin Laden and there were al Qaeda training camps there. We overthrew the Taliban government and while it took years, we finished off Bin Laden.

So why should we still be there? Because of some nebulous notions of women’s rights? Really?

I’m waiting for him to tell us that any of his grandchildren have signed up to get killed in his futile war.

The publication, Asia Times, had a great cover years ago. It showed GWB jogging with a veteran who lost his legs in Bush’s nation-building disaster. The caption on the photo was something to the effect of “Guess which one went to Iraq”

He’s just not into resentment like the rats are. We have good enough reasons to be just that.

The despicable oligarchy probably plans on making Afghanistan the 51st state because it would be faster and cheaper than letting the jihadists sneak over our borders and granting them asylum.

Two decades of war fought mostly under the guise of catching a guy who was living in the next country over. Soldiers deploying who weren’t even born when the war started. If all of the blood and treasure spilled in Afghanistan by now isn’t enough, there better be a damned better reason to do it than teaching the Afghanis to respect their womenfolk.

I doubt George Bush can find Afghanistan on a map. He is a vacuous idiot who now finds he can get a crap media audience by criticizing his own party and they will pat the simpleton on the head for it, just like a dog begging for another biscuit - have you heard the boob say a negative word about Biden or his goulash communism? Nah, he might get criticized for it and like his dismal father, he has no loyalty of any kind to the people who got him elected.

Let them fight over their own sandbox. As long as they leave us alone it is not our concern.
