A group of young Brooklyn men ripped off $2 million in COVID-19 relief funds by submitting fraudulent unemployment claims — and then stupidly posted pictures of themselves with their ill-gotten cash, prosecutors said on Tuesday.
Six of the eight defendants — ranging in age from 18 to 25 — were charged in Brooklyn federal court, documents show.
Two of the suspects — Armani Miller, 24, and Johan Santos, 19 — are still at large.

Should also read as: The GOVERNMENT also carelessly ACCEPTED the same addresses and cellphone numbers for multiple false claims, the prosecutors said.

The biggest “fraudsters” being those in DC! Can’t make sense of this - did they file bogus UNEMPLOYMENT claims or was it just plain stealing ID’s and ripping off other’s bank accounts?
These guys were so pathetic. I saw their photos and there were no stacks of cash to be seen. Just some idiots fanning out 20-30 Benjamins ($100 bills) No way to impress the hos!

I work at a high school in NC and a colleague told me that one of his students (who is “undocumented”) received $24K in Covid relief from the government. Apparently, he declared a whole slew of dependents.

The best thing that could happen to that bum would be to be found in the gutter with one planted behind his head and some of the loot stuffed in his mouth. Kind of a message they used to send to those who “sang” except the money in that case was a rat.
These are the people we are supposed to revere, yeah, no thanks worthless oxygen thieves.
The worst part is this is a teenager and he already knows how to game the system.
Yeah, he got a good start by being here and being illegal. We are importing nothing but crap from outside this country. We have enough of our home grown to not need more.
Gov Gavin Newsom stole at least $1.4 billion back in April 2020. Went to China to buy masks that never arrived.
